Come on now, where is national HD, why would i care if some cities in florida get local HD channels? I think if they new they were going to add hd channels they would of told us when , like last summer when they added history hd and those discovery channels.

April Fool's Day Surprise

The birdies are saying next week. I'll believe it when I see it in the EPG.

April 1st is the appropriate time. However, their press release today made no mention of additional national channels during the next 2 months, only additional LIL HD. Hopefully, we will have an April Fool's day surprise. E* does need to add many local markets in HD, but they will have wholesale deflections if they do not add the National HD to stay competitive. From all accounts, E* has the capacity to add a sizeable number of national HD channels but not the desire.

Dish does not have the capacity now to add hd. They will on Monday though. What they do with the extra bandwidth is anyones guess. Could use it for national (where I believe they will use it) or use it for more locals.

Remember that USA hd and Sci Fi hd are probably in a suite with several other hd channels. Those 2 hd channels are on sat. 110 I believe ready to go. The others in that suite have to be made room for on 61.5 so they can be mirrored on 129. 14 spaces go open Monday on 61.5. When that happens they can light up all of the hd in that suite. Just a guess.

Also. It should not be long to tell what Dish will do with the extra transponders.

It has been said many many times that they DO have capacity. Sky Angel helps, but they CAN add now. I think this is an issue on what the see as priorities. Clearly they see LILs as they major project right now.

Maybe digi can chime in here. 61.5 has no room....now. Will have room on Monday. That does not mean on Monday that there will be new hd.

We need him to show up at the next Charlie Chat and scream at them., and then he can say, "but wait subs, we will give you 20 new HD channels tonight, if you sign a new five year commitment in the next hour!!":D
