Good luck with that. Single tuner, and no guarantee that EHD means DVR functionality. It could just mean that you can play content copied from your DVR on the 211. Who knows at this point.
But if you want a DVR now, there are obviously options available.
i would go with a proven DVR (i.e. the 612) instead of hoping for DVR with the 211
There are those among us that already have one or two 6 or 722s and who travel to remote locations and camp without any utilities and so have to rely on solar panels and batteries for power.
These folks are always concerned about power usage so don't want to travel with a DVR that draws power when ever it's plugged in. Also the superdish is a pain to align. Further there is the extra charge when not connected to a phone line.
But with a Vip211 a phone line isn't required to avoid that charge.
And when packing for a trip all one has to do is pick the shows on any DVR in their house and transfer them to a small EHD. Then when TV time rolls around they can just power up the 211, plug in the EHD and viola! They're good to go.
So even though these folk usually put up dishes at their camp sites for news, weather and such, they don't have to to see their favorite shows. And in a pinch they can even stop at a site without a clear view of the southern sky.
And during the trip the DVRs back at home continue catching the shows the timers are set for.
BTW, this could have all been done with a Pocket Dish if it wasn't for its inability to copy HD programs from the VIPs.
