Hi All,
Not too happy with the 1000.4 dish (eastern arc). Even with 50-60 signal strength I get rain fade with light rainfall.

Is there a dish combo (maybe a 500 for 119/110 and another 500 with an I bracket for 61.5) that would yield a stronger signal.

Thanks a ton!

Joe

Keep in mind that 90% of rain fade isn't caused by the actual downpour, but the cloud that the rain came out of is impenetrable signal wise. I have 3 separate Dish 500s for 110/119/129 and have great signal strengths, but every so often I'll lose signal before the first drop of rain hits the ground. I then know I'm about to have a gully washer in a few minutes.

I agree that when a downpour occurs or there are thunderstorms then rain fade is always a possibility. I get rain fade during a moderate shower. For me its not acceptable. It would also appear that my dish levels are about average for what most are getting. I had a 500/300 set up before with no issues so I'm thinking of going back.
