Hi I was wondering if I can use my expressvu dish with my starchoice receiver. Please help as I am a newbie at this.

No - Expressvu uses circular polarity DBS satellites whereas SC uses Ku band satellites with horizontal/vertical polarity.

If you only going after F1 programming (but not HD/French/ethnics/Sunday Ticket), you can use any Ku band dish.

If you are asking to use just the dish then yes it can be used.
A Star Choice LNBF would have to be acquired and a hybrid mounting down.
You are better to get a Star Choice dish and quad LNBF. They don't cost much.
Whatever size XpressVu dish worked then Star Choice of similiar size will do.

Express-vu used to use 24" dishes when they were first introduced but then again they were using a lower powered satellite and H/V polarity. I still have one of the LNBs they used..........then for awhile after they switched to DBS, Star Choice bought all their remaining LNBs and put their own stickers on them.........I digress..........if it's one of the old 24" dishes (with the old H/V LNB) they had, it might work but I'd say 30" is minimum for a decent signal.

Very Early Canadian Satellite Info.
