MVR - Multi Room Viewing. Allows one DVR to view recorded programming from another DVR.
DoD - DirecTV on Demand (their version of Video on Demand). Using a broadband internet connection you can have a HR2X DVR download programs/movies from DirecTV. For standard def programming, if you have fairly quick connection (like >4Mbps) you usually start viewing the program within a minute while the rest continues. For HD programming it takes much longer before enough content has been downloaded so you can view it without hitting the end of the buffer.
