Who installs a new receiver when bought at Best Buy?

Who installs a new receiver hd dvr when purchased from Best Buy? Can I do it or must Directv do it or what?

I've purchased a H21 and HR22 from BestBuy and just installed them myself, was never given an option when I purchased them to have DirecTV install. I think the exception might be if you're a new customer then DirecTV does the install, BestBuy doesn't even let you take the box home IIRC.

From threads ive read ive never seen one from best buy yet....but its not like u can request it thru directv either....if they install its pot luck as to what model # they bring.

Even though you think you purchased your receiver I bet if you read the papers in the bag you will find you are leasing that receiver. You also have a stated time to get it activated. You can install and activate it..........if you need an additional sat line you get to buy the cable and multiswitch.

If you call DTV they will (may) charge you to connect the box & will add an additional period to your contractual commitment.

Don't open the box or loose the access card until you decide.

Value Electronics, ValueElectronics web site says they have the HR23's if you must have the model.
