Someone is going to pop in here and ask how we went from channel placement, to talking about the cost of Soda. In reality it makes it easier for people to understand how it goes hand in hand with why broadcasters choose various slots with a provider.

Not sure I agree with your 2 liter statement, not that long ago I use to buy them for 99c, then 1.29, they can't be losing money every time I buy one.
The local stores either have them for 1.69 or 1.89, the gas stations have them 3 for $4 or 4 for $5.

I gotta think the Krogers or your local supermarket gets them for well under a dollar.

On a side note, we have gone WAY off the thread topic !
Not really. It makes a point as to why certain channels are in certain slots or packages. As for the loss. Those states that allow you to get money back for deposit, keeps profits higher, and consumers tend to spend more.

Those channels that providers have to take a bite out of the income, usually make up for what they collect from the infomercial channels, Home Shopping and religion channels to pay the bills.

As for the paid advertising channels and the home shopping channels they have to be on those channels because they bought those channels and they pay to be on that particular channel that's why they cannot be moved unless they ask to be moved to a different channel
