i have been trying to move via online chat and it never seems to work.they always ask for proof or some other i don't have.what's the trick and what am i missing.i all i want to do is pick up the hartford locals,i know i can get them(i am only 23 miles north of hartford in MA).i'll take any help i can get.i can even use my work address as it is in suffield ct.

I always say I'm moving to my summer house (changing service address only) which already has dish equipment installed, and I'm just taking my receiver with me. Haven't had an issue. I use my parents address as the summer address.

if you are that close, couldn't you try and get a signal using an outdoor/indoor antenna? then you wouldn't have to move, plus you might get a couple more channels that dish does not carry.

Just try again. What are they asking for? Utility bills or something? Just tell them you haven't received one yet and if they don't want to move you then you'll have to consider changing to Direct as a new customer.

Just play CSR Roulette, I've "moved" a couple times to check the PQ on some of the 77 degree locals, a few CSR's online wanted me to do Dish mover, the others only wanted to know if I was receiving a signal. I told them yes, there was a Dish installed from the previous owner.

You must be trying to move your billing address. When you leave for that job next week, get the address where you are staying, hook up your dish receiver and turn it on. Fire up your laptop, tell them where you are at your temporary job location, but you still want your bill sent to your home address since your wife pays all the bills at home.
