Why is Dish still advertising Voom?

Because Voom is coming back to dish on 12/20/2012. Didn't you hear? It's all over this site!

:D Wow, I didn't know dish started a new package called DishHD, it sounds absolutely interesting. But they don't have Speed HD or even CNN HD.

VERY sloppy by dishtvorders, they really should delete unused pages on their site.

as for the Mayan thing, here's what wiki has to say about it
The 2012 phenomenon is a present-day cultural meme proposing that cataclysmic or transformative events will occur in the year 2012. The forecast is based primarily on what is claimed to be the end-date of the Mesoamerican Long Count calendar, which is presented as lasting 5,125 years and as terminating on December 21 or 23, 2012, along with interpretations of assorted legends, scriptures, numerological constructions and prophecies.

Wiki is wrong. It's not the 21st or 23rd. Its the 20th! (I can't believe I'm having this conversation!!! :) :) :) :))

In full disclosure, I think we'll be around in 2013 & my joke bombed. I'm glad I'm not a comedian!

No problem at all, at least you interjected some level of entertainment into this thread. You also pointed out a marvelous achievement (in my opinion, at least) which was the construction of the long calendar, and which should be remembered long after Voom is forgotten...In the event the world doesn't end with the end of the long calendar, does the calendar start over or simply continue? I see no reason for the calendar to end if the world doesn't.

Fitzie

Guess that decision is up to the guys who came up with the calendar in the first place, anybody know where they got off to?

Is it coincidence that the Mayan end of the world is just a little over a month after the next US presidential election ?
