Wife's having problems with ROOT NW

and the week or so it takes them to remove them from the guide... ;)
Yes, that is one thing that annoys me: Dish leaving the channels in the guide when we can't actually watch the games. Other previews seem to get removed from the guide in a timely manner, so why should the sports packages be any different? At least with NBA League Pass, the extended preview (while we are waiting for the NBA LP channels to get hidden again) gives us access to NBA TV. Since MLB EI does not include MLB Network, there is really no point in leaving the MLB EI channels visible any longer than necessary for the preview.

So the wife is still up-in-arms with this situation. Now, both Saturday and Sunday games started recording the SD channel instead HD. ALL of Saturday's game was recorded in SD and Sunday we noticed half-way through the broadcast and manually swapped them.

Spent around 45 minutes with DISH tech support and the first guy tried telling me he was going to relay the problem to the engineering group. That, to me sounds like DISH telling me to live with the problem? I asked repeatedly if I could get a call-back just to tell me what the solution was? He told me that wasn't possible.

I mean really, they didn't do anything? For starters wouldn't you maybe want to delete all the timers dealing with the problem and start from scratch? NOPE! They didn't. All they did(and I spoke with a senior support tech after this first guy) was check the settings to try and make sure the DVR was set to prefer the HD instead of the SD.

Long story short, I'm fed up with the whole thing and tried to get them to let me out of my contract.(have 1 year left). This was after transferring me to an account specialist. She finally gave me a waved fee for a tech to come to our house and see what the problem is (I doubt there actually is a problem with the equipment!) So, I have a tech coming to my house Tuesday.

What can I do to get this problem resolved?

This might be an unrelated problem with the guide data. Was the game listed correctly in the guide data on the HD feed on Saturday and Sunday? If the guide for the HD feed was screwed up, then the timer would only recognize the game on the SD feed (assuming the SD feed had the correct guide data) and record it, which is better than not recording anything and missing the game entirely.

So the wife's an avid fan of the Seattle Mariners. Last year we set a SEEK timer to record any and all Mariners games and it worked flawlessly. Now this year had been fine up until last week sometime. One of her games(from the HD channel) recorded nothing but a banner saying something like: "We didn't have a subscription to this channel in HD and to Tune into the SD channel to watch"! Well, this went over like a fart in church with the wife. So we deleted the SEEK timer and tried to set two DVR timers; one on the HD channel and the other on the SD. This way we'd get one or the other. It didn't work though, I think because the DVR is set to prefer HD when there's both? We did override a couple to force the SD to record and when the wife discovered how bad SD looked, she got pissed all over again. I've spent a couple hours with DISH and they just pointed me to the game finder page of the web site (which didn't even list the live game that we know should have been there?)

Does anyone know of a solution to this other than the $120 MLB season ticket?

Thanks for any and all help
Yeah..Do a MANUAL timer. Search the precise channel you wish to record. Set start and wend times manually and let 'er go...
TO record sporting events, I NEVER use the timer feature. I manually enter the start and stop times.
