I've contacted Dish and gone through several levels, they say they will get back to me but they don't.

If you mean Slinging Live TV and/or recordings, then no. The Hopper Duo does not have Sling compatibility.

You would need a separate Sling Box.

By not building in Sling, they achieve two things:

1. STB is cheaper to build.
2. Product differentiation.

If you want Sling built in, you must upgrade to the HWS. If you want Sling built in, AND to retain your sanity and remain calm, you need to upgrade to the H3.

IIRC Dish Anywhere app uses the sling capability on the receiver to put programming on the net.

Dish Anywhere is an app, doesn't require Sling.
The OP has a Dish Duo and it doesn't have Sling capabilities so an app won't do him any good. The suggestion for a separate Sling Box is a good one in his case....

I don't need a Sling box I just want to use the app to see, edit, and add timers on my DVR.

Won’t work. You won’t even be able to program timers. I bought a used Slingbox Solo on Ebay for $22 to use with my Wally. It does what you are wanting. So that could be an option for you.

Will a sling adapter work. I used one and still have it stored in a drawer somewhere. Awesome little device...

I doubt it. Can’t hurt to try.

Has anybody ever tried plugging a Sling adapter into a Wally? I read somewhere that they were compatible with the Hopper 1

They are compatible with an H1. They are compatible with 722,722k, and H1. The 922 andtheH2 and the H3 were all Sling loaded.

I haven’t gone up and read, but is your Hopper internet connected?
