I guess when Voom ceases than Sean will disolve this Voom Forum too, right?

Or will sean leave it up for all of us exVoomers to talk??

We'd need three threads for exVoomer's who go to Cable, Satellite, or nothing...I'm going to cable, so will that make me one of those dreaded trolls now if I still come to this web site??? Maybe Satelliteguys.us can change their name to HiDefTVguys.us - then we won't be trolling...

we have a cable forum.

And there's no reason for us to make the voom forums disapear just cause they went out of business

What for? Did Elvis fade into the past when he left? NO! Voom will be with us for a very long time! Voom sightings and the rest. We still will need the forum.

Look!!! It's over on Atlantic Sat at 2 degrees west. Oh wait it's now gone. Hey, I've spotted it again over the Indian Ocean on Imarsat :D

We'll leave it open until there is no further activity. So it will be here until you guys stop coming!

Nice to have a place to call home. :p

in other words when they flip the switch on may 1st and everyone will scramble in here to write and vex their concerns, after people stop vexxing and move on then this forum will be gone?

weagle....Maybe it just means that this forum will continue as long as there are people who appreciated and still hope for the beauty that we witnessed...those people will probably want to discuss it (and future hopes) for a long time to come, since it doesn't look like anyone else will step up the plate in the immediate future. Maybe We Can Start A Primestar Board

I feel bad for the employees that are going to loose their income, but this still reminds me of how Primestar went from being a good idea to being another blip in the history of television.

Vicki,

You hit the nail on the head about this forum that I was trying to say. Also I think accroding to Sean's post, that he is going to leave this forum up until the post ceases here.

What if you could subscribe only to the VOOM21 channels? And it needed a slightly bigger Dish and it cost a little more?

Would you be interested?

It is a tempting idea however, I would hope that another service was also available fromt he same dish to cover other HD and SD channels as well and using only one receiver for both. Not sure that is doable. I would not want to sub to just the 21 and have just once receiver and dish just assigned to that. I don't think it would be worth everyones trouble. But I would sub to the 21 separately if it were offered with another service as an add-on

Yes. I'd pay at least $20-25/month for Voom as an add-on (like HBO), possibly more if I had an HD-DVR that could record movies. I'm just not sure how this would work unless Voom were picked up by D* or E*. I'd be less interested in a second STB and no ability to record.

CDH.

I'ld do it! Heck, every D* and E* subscriber is paying $10 for 5 HD channels. That would make the Voom21 worth about $40. :) I wouldn't pay an additional $40, but maybe $10-15 or so. Then there might actually be enough HD to just subscribe to the HD channels (which is not possible with the current Voom setup).

BTW I should note that this is just an idea in my head, and not anything told to me by anyone.

Since it appears VOOM will be in the Content business I would love to see them sell to HD nuts as well as Cable and Satellite Providers, but offer no other channels then the VOOM 21.

:)

I like this idea. Hope it is one that is being considered by CVC.
