Griffey has 611 HRs. In some alternate universe where Bud "Light" (Kennesaw Molehill) Selig is some unimportant Chevy dealer, Griffey is getting the praise he deserves as 4th on the list of all-time HR hitters and has at least 120 more than anybody who has played since 1973, and we are having discussions about what might have been had he stayed only average healthy.
In our universe, that was stolen from us.
HAD he stayed healthy, he possibly would have been with Seattle his whole career or at least finished it with Cincy .....
I think the Cincy fans and management would have been thrilled to have a healthy Griffey there.
He would have easily past the HR records had he stayed healthy, but you can look and see that alot of careers would have been different had they stayed healthy.
I've watched and like the trio of Mariners since they arrived there.
Griffey, Alex Rodreguiz and Randy Johnson ....
I know Johnson was with Montreal first, when he got to Seattle he was still a wild throwing lanky pitcher, came a long way from then.
