World Cup in June

U.S. vs. England in the World Cup on June 12th. Fox Soccer Channel is going to HD this month.

Where is Dish on getting some decent soccer coverage in HD? The World Cup is sort of a big deal

ESPN, ABC and Univision have the rights for the World Cup. I'm sure Espn and ABC will have the games in HD.

Considering the title of this thread relates to The World Cup, Dish already has full HD coverage of the event.

ESPN will show all 64 matches of the tournament live and in HD on either ABC, ESPN or ESPN 2.

Univision HD and Telefutura HD have launched over-the-air in several cities already.

ESPN/ABC has exclusive rights to English language broadcast of the World Cup in the USA, and Univision has exclusive rights to the Spanish language broadcast of the World Cup in the USA, so neither will have SAP audio with the other language.

On the other hand, "Beckham" in Spanish is "Beckham" and "Goal" is "Gol", so you do not lose much with soccer in some other language.

I was hoping they would be doing that. I think some of the follow-up posts thought I was joking.

I know that I read the world cup would be broadcast/recorded to other countries in 3D. I just hope they find a way to make it work with people's current HD setup. At least a stop-gap until 3D sets are available.
