I'm looking for a cheap, basic receiver, just to get my feet wet with aiming my dish. I only see a small portion of the sky, and can only really see Hispasat, so I have no need for DVB-S2 until I move. I don't mind having something shipped, but if anyone in CT has something collecting dust I wouldn't mind picking it up. I'm in New Britain right near the highway, so getting around most of the state wouldn't be a problem.

Would you want my tried and tested true OpenBox S-9 for $50. It does have S-2 and dolby AAC audio so your feet will get very wet. Ha.
It comes with the original box, accessories complete, and a extra remote control. It had two years of software upgrades and has matured into a very good receiver with the version I have installed on it.

I guess I should have asked a mod to close the thread. I ended up getting an X2 for $50ish and have confirmed that, no, I don't have LOS for 30W. It seems I can get nothing for Ku, and 40.5W + 45W for C (if I could convince the landlord to let me have a dish hanging off the building). They already said no to a NPRM on the roof, so... I guess I'll have to wait until I move before actually being a satelliteguy.
