I'd rather have the channel in SD than not have the channel at all. I honestly don't even watch it that often, There might be two Iowa games on there at the most in a year. I love HD but I love to watch football more so I'm just happy having the channel.

I think it comes down to how good of an SD channel it is. TCM in SD is very watchable. ESPNU isn't nearly as watchable. It is like watching MLS replays in SD on Fox Sports Net.

Yeah, you put that SD picture on my 70" and it look like an abomination! ;)

I'm guessing it resembles the infamous fog bowl Eagles vs Bears.I never will forget that game, even though I couldn't see a dang thing.

Great analogy. I remember that game well! It was so much fun to try to figure out where the ball was.....

If I were to take a guess, my guess would be Sept. 22nd. If you go to Dish's site, you can see their press releases, and on Sept. 22nd, 2005 they signed a deal for ESPNU - http://about.dish.com/press-release/programming/dish-network-adds-espnu-channel-line-0

All the pages that covered the Disney/Dish trial earlier in the year, such as this site, http://www.adweek.com/news/televisi...dish-network-not-spoiling-fight-disney-147447 mention an "8 year deal that expires in Sept" and if it is a literal 8 years, I guess it would expire on Sept. 22nd, 2013. But it could as well expire Sept. 30th.

I haven't seen an exact date anywhere either, but would like to know myself.

Edit: This site says by about Sept. 20th http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/thr-esq/dish-espn-trial-offers-a-422301

I agree. More time negotiating and less time posturing like chimps in a territorial dispute please, Dish & Disney, and Dish and Fox. You're paid to negotiate and get deals done. Not try to compare who can grunt the loudest.
