The most interesting part: "The deal, which the paper said was signed Sunday, includes digital rights for mobile apps such as WatchESPN. Dish will also carry Fusion, a new English-language news channel aimed at young people and the SEC Network, a soon-to-be college sports network from ESPN, the paper reported."http://finance.yahoo.com/news/dish-disney-reach-long-term-234730776.html;_ylt=AwrBEiHDFBVTUxIAtJVDDex_
I was hoping the SEC network would be airing trials of Wall St criminals. Oh well.

From another article, the 3 day window is significant because that's counted in ad buys. After 3 days DVR'd ads are worthless to broadcasters.

Think you can expect this to become the new standard, wouldn't be surprised to see the litigation settling with similar terms for all broadcasters independent of of new agreements.

I guess if you have a lot of shows to watch this would be useful still, but in our household and our viewing habits this would render autohop completely useless.
As I don't use PTAT and thus Autohop, I'm fine as long as 30sec skip still works.

There is very little that I watch within 3 days of airing, especially on ABC. Most shows are at least a week later, so waiting 3 days is no big deal. It's still a nice feature to have. Disabling 30 sec skip would be the feature I don't want to do without.

ESPN President Predicts a Deal With DISH

Can't wait to see if and when the Disney / ESPN channels go HD. Plus love that Dish will be carrying the new SEC Network.

I am surprised that they reached and agreement. I can't wait for the HD to be lit up.

Not sure that sounds right. The disabling of a 30 second skip for every single Local ABC station sounds like a total Re-write in Dish's DVR Software. I just dont see the 30 second thing being abolished.

You misunderstood me. I meant it was a feature I personally would miss more if it was disabled, than just the fact of autohop being delayed 3 days. I didn't mean they would disable skip fwd

Wow, Dish blinked. Relented by adding more of a delay to Auto-hop, now to see if subsequent agreements take that concession or try and push it further. Wonder if this will hurt or help remaining litigation.

I am convinced that this was Charlie Ergen's long game all along.

I'm shocked!!The mouse kicked Charlie's proverbial butt! Why does he continue to ruffle all these feathers only to relent in the end?

I can live without AutoHop for 3 days. It would be cool if, with the 3 day wait, we could go back to the zero commercial time, not a few seconds begin and end, that we had for the first few days at the beginning.

For all we know, Disney wanted AutoHop completely dead. Maybe this is actually a win?

Actually, if it was a true compromise, both sides will claim "win".

I don't see how they could disable 30 sec skip ahead as it's already been found to be perfectly legal.
