Ok I just finished catching up on this thread. What were we talking about again? Oh yeah, Tivo and DISH settled, er no, that was AMC & DISH right? Wait a minute, which dispute were we on? Oh Yeah now I remember DI$NEY! :D Should they wait the HD to light up before they get into the next fight?
Well, we did get Night Court reruns green-lighted in this thread.

The same as Google has been doing for a long time. It does not equate to more ads, it means some ads will be substituted with something more likely you will be interested in. As Scott said when local ads are substituted that is a form of a targeted ad.

Now if someone would come out with an ad blocker for tv!;)

OK, the new topic to keep this thread humming..... How soon until they light up all that HD and will they have to dial up the compression to compensate or do they have plenty of bandwidth?

Glad most of you who wanted the ESPN/Disney channels got more or less what you wanted. Now if us peeps that PAY EXTRA for premium channels would get THOSE all in HD and the missing channels in the suite too, I'd be happy. And FearnetHD. :)

I have been trying to get official confirmation on Disney XD all day. I just talked to them and they still don't know the answer officially. Things are a little nuts there.

Its about time they have something exciting to talk about. :D

As soon as I hear more I will post it. :D

Thanks for your work on this. Is it just me or did this whole event seem a little . . . . sloppy? For a press release 6 months in the making, for them to not know some of the basic details (DXD in HD) seems a little amateurish. Not to mention zero answers on timing of any of this.

I've read the Press Releases. I'm looking forward to the Star Wars: Rebels series that is going to debut later this Summer. I don't see Disney HD mentioned in this agreement. I'm I missing something or will DisneyXD-HD be absent?

What ABC/ESPN Channels were available with Dish America before they dropped the HD feeds? I seem to remember at least ABC Family was included at one time. If you had Dish America back then, please let me know. Hard to speculate what channels we will get (if any) in Dish America, Silver, or Gold, but this might be as close as we get.
I know that I LOST abc family HD and Disney HD from Dish America or was it called Platinum at that time. It would be nice for Dish to announce which packages each is going into. I know SOON! Or was that my Absolute package. Dish changes sh*t around so much to screw us over. Who remembers.

This all started with a leak of information, did it not ? That means none of this was supposed to be made public (yet). Someone in the know told someone else details, some was forgotten, some was mistaken, etc.

We are trying to find out - they did say On Demand content would be provided so that Star Wars cartoon could likely be grabbed there (hopefully) in HD. Scott did say he heard unofficially that DXD in HD was part of it, but has not confirmed that.

Agreed. This quote was copied from one of the many links posted last night:

"A Dish spokesman declined to comment while a Disney representative could not be reached."

This was an "official" leak, but on purpose in my opinion. The cone of silence was in place for months, I think it was lifted and CONTROL - uh -DISH wanted something out there. (Maybe KAOS - uh - Disney too) There was something posted at DISH I believe.
