PS4

Saw that case in Canada the other day where the guy's $27 Million lottery ticket was stamped by the machine 7 seconds after midnight so after a 7 year court battle their supreme court ruled that the rules are the rules and that he didn't win. 7 seconds. 27 million dollars.

That has nothing to do with this. Dish said 3 referrals "activated" between their Ps/4 dates, and my 3 were clearly activated within their time frame, per their own system which SAYS "activated". There's no definition of "activated" needed or assumed, since their terms don't define it as anything special beyond what they title it in their own referral page system:

I hope he can sort it out for you. It would be a dam shame to be that close & miss it on a technicality. If he can't I would get the number for ERT "executive resolutions team".
ERT no longer exists... Would be the Office of the President(OOP)

I didn't say it had anything to do with this. I was just sayin'.

And, IMHO it all depends on the meaning of the word 'activated'. If they mean receiver and account activation then that happens when the system is installed and the billing starts.

And guess who gets to define 'activated'? ;)

Anybody would think the word "activated" with a date filled in by Dish themselves on the Dish referrals page meant exactly the same as the word "activate" in their own fine print for the Ps/4, which is what they say 3 of those "activated" during their set time period qualifies you.

"To be eligible, each referred account must activate new service between 6/1/14 and 12/31/14."

There's no ambiguity there at all. No more use discussing it.

This will be my last post on this, until I hear from Dish.

Dish DIRT person submitted an "Account Inquiry" for the PS4 3 days ago. I'm supposed to receive something in my contact email once anything is decided. I haven't heard anything as of yet.

I got the award approval email today! Now I have the "4-6 weeks" wait to receive the voucher through snail-mail!

It's the night before Christmas, and I can't WAIT to open those presents! lol.

Dish lied to us and never contacted us back in regards to checking on the PS4 and I still no credit for the third referral. I ain't got time to chase them down every little bit for these referrals as I have other work to do. Now several people will probably never refer anybody to Dish or Frontier and are very upset with them. This gave them a black eye around here for sure. I personally like Dish as they have the best hardware around but many are not pleased about the referral issues and Frontier's billing and errors causing all the problems. Dish will probably lose several current customers after the contract is up and potential customers as a result of this. Some are even saying they may pay the penalty to leave. I figure Dish does not care.

Since we are the ones the referred them we heard a lot of griping and almost felt like they were mad at us for referring them. Never had this many issues before. Seems like the whole problem reverts back to going through Frontier. I am hearing lots of other people complaining about their billing as well that I never referred. I've spent countless hours on the phone with Frontier in the past trying to get billing problems resolved. I tried telling them that the problem is most likely not with Dish but with Frontier but it gave Dish a black eye as they are tied into the bundling.

I just got the email saying my voucher was "placed in the mail today. Please allow up to 14 business days to receive your reward from DISH".

So, that took two weeks since it was approved. Hopefully it doesn't really take 14 days to get to me. 59 days right now since my 3rd referral. I guess better late than never!

I got the code in the mail today, and ordered the Ps/4. I already have shipping confirmation.

Now I have to decide what I'm going to do with it, I'm not really a gamer. Has anybody heard anything more about Sony's plans to start an I.P. tv company received through the Ps/4 network?

Wait, so you went through all this trouble and posting on here for something you don't even have a use for? I'm not judging though, I probably would have done something similar. You did earn it so you might as well get it.

I did it to save the $5 a month off my bill for each referral. I had no idea when I started that they also had this promotion. Since they did, why shouldn't I get one if I followed the rules?

That has nothing to do with whether I can actually use it or not. I can use the $400 more than the Ps/4.

I worked for a coin-op company for almost 9 years in the '80's, and got my fill of pinball and video games back then. I had the keys to all the machines! Gotta play them for a while after fixing them!
