PS4

If Dish wants people to refer others more often then they need to get the problem fixed. The best way to get a new customer is through a referral. Word of mouth is the most important advertisement that you can have.

My girlfriend got three referrals but because they bundled Dish through Frontier, she got screwed and Frontier has not been punching in the referral codes like they should or its not getting sent to Dish. We had a hard time with the first two so the third we went directly through Dish and never had an issue then called Frontier last to do the bundling instead of going through Frontier for the bundling first. We got credit for one but the second one we are still trying to get Dish to give us the credit for it. Because of Frontier overbilling everybody we referred and the people we referred had to fight to get their credits and us fighting to get credit for the third referral to get credits and the free PS4 as promised no more referrals have been given and now some angry customers to boot. I think there is a major issue with Frontier that needs to be looked at by Dish with these referral codes.

One of the reasons why I hate bundling.

Yeah, I had 7 referrals total, and Dish didn't give me the middle 4, but gave them the $50 off. Various reasons such as bundling, but all bogus in my opinion. I was amazed I got the last one with like 27 hours to go for the deadline. Now I wait to see if the Ps/4 comes through.

Not bogus at all. Their bundle system is terrible. Unless you're a customer that never makes changes to your account or uses referrals then the $5 you save by bundling is not worth it.

Over 1 month today since my 3rd confirmed referral was connected, and still nothing at all from Dish about my PS/4. Not even a thank-you, or simple email or snail mail saying anything is in progress.

DIRT said I just need to wait. That's not an easy thing to do, when you hear nothing at all for so long.

On gmail have you check under promotions? Are you getting credits for all 3?

It's only now 1 month since the final one, but I'd have thought I'd at least have something to say they are thinking about me "please wait", but there's been nothing at all.

The key here is, when was the 3rd referral installed?

A referral # will show activated as soon as the order is built even though it may not be installed for a week down the road.

It really shouldn't matter when it was installed as long as the order was built before the promo ran out. Only the fine print would reveal the details.

Imo too much time has passed with no response. It needs the right person to check into it & see what's going on.

The 3rd referral was activated on 12/30, then installed and up and running January 1st.

I think the key here is Dish needs to honor their own time frame they set forth for the PS/4 offer, which was confirmed referrals between: 06/01/14 – 12/31/14. See the fine print below, "To be eligible, each referred account must activate new service between 6/1/14 and 12/31/14."

I took screenshots in case anything happened, such as the offer info being removed after 12/31/14 (which it was)

I'm happy to wait a bit more, but I don't even know if anything is going on.

The way I read the fine print is..if this system was up & running on 12/31 (activated) you would already have had some sort of notification or probably have already received it.

Imo it would be wrong for dish not to honor it. There has got to be someone at dish who could help.?.?

I was told that the third referral MUST be activated 12/31/2014 or you would not get credit for it on the PS4 offer.

I am still fighting Dish on a third referral for the free PS4. They gave the $50 but am waiting to hear back from a second specialist that did not contact me back like was promised. Probably will tell me the same things the others did. Dish has 4 angry customers now because of this whole mess and I think Frontier is to blame for most of it. Frontier says they do no participate in the refer a friend program and I have a chat transcript to prove it.

My last one was activated on 12/30/14..., so one day before the deadline. It clearly shows activated on that date in my Referral section of my account.

See the above screen-print from Dishes own website:

"To be eligible, each referred account must activate new service between 6/1/14 and 12/31/14."

Nothing about being installed between those dates, just activated between those dates. So, since my last one was on 12/30, I quite clearly qualify for the PS/4, according to their own rules.

Hopefully I'll hear something soon.

The system gets installed before it gets activated. If it shows the date on the referral page on Dish's website as 12/30 then it should be good to go for the third referral.

There is a mis-interpretation of the word "activation" here.

Activation is the moment in time a system is turned on. It is also when the billing starts and takes effect.

Like I said earlier a referral # will show activated before a system is installed. It appears his 3rd referral had the order built on 12/30 & was installed/turned on (activated) on 1/1.

This activation on 1/1 threw anything automated regarding the promo out the window. I believe it can be fixed but not without the right person from dish interveneing to make an exception.

I sent a pm to a Dish DIRT person, MikeH. Hopefully he can sort it out.

I hope he can sort it out for you. It would be a dam shame to be that close & miss it on a technicality. If he can't I would get the number for ERT "executive resolutions team".

Saw that case in Canada the other day where the guy's $27 Million lottery ticket was stamped by the machine 7 seconds after midnight so after a 7 year court battle their supreme court ruled that the rules are the rules and that he didn't win. 7 seconds. 27 million dollars.
