SD doesn't use spot beams like D* or E*. Every channel on a given sat is available within its footprint, as noted by DJDish. I'm in northern OH and get G1 just fine.

Agreed - if your "service address" is outside Toronto, you're almost certainly getting simsubbed with your local network on G1, which doesn't reach Alabama.

Probably the same unique setup I have (connect only to VPN). Just go to VOD, Network. The select DHCP and set to Disabled. Then go to the TCP/IP properties option and populate your settings.

You've got a map - 4320 - line F on that screen shot. That's the map for the old quad LNB. You'll want to tell your guys that's the case, as when they activate they'll need to push the proper map for your xKu LNB. With that map you'll only be able to tune F2 channels - I'm surprised there's not...

I believe your whole setup will work fine as proposed. The 630 does require two lines.

It worked just fine here hooked proxyless to the internet, but that was a while back, before G1 went up and Shaw got all crazy. I've had it run through a router hooked 24/7 to a VPN since then.

In past years they have not had all games in HD due to space constraints. They are advertising all games in HD this season, so the smart money would be on them using G1 transponders for at least some of the games. So maybe you get some games without G1 (depending on how they allocate space) but...

If you're really in the southern US, you won't get G1. A 75 cm stock dish with the old quad dual-look LNB will serve you just fine.
