Anyone Have Two Hopper 3s on a DPH42 Switch?

So I will need to switch out the LNB and get a DPH42 switch. Can I have the DPH42 switch go to the hybrid duo hub to the 2 Hopper 3s or will I need to use 2 hybrid solo hubs like I have seen on the diagrams on the forum? Should I call dish and see if they will send me the LNB and DPH42 or just...

Anyone Have Two Hopper 3s on a DPH42 Switch?

Thanks for your advice. I was able to schedule an install for a 2 hopper 3 system. Dish tech came out today, but unfortunately my Dish is on the roof and we got a little snow and tech couldn’t go on roof. The installer left the 2nd Hopper 3 and a hybrid duo hub so the guy that has done my...

Anyone Have Two Hopper 3s on a DPH42 Switch?

I am interested in doing a 2 Hopper 3 install. The above number no longer seems to be in service. I tried doing a Chat with Dish Customer service and that was a dead end. Has anybody been able to get 2 Hopper 3’s installed lately and if so what is the best way to get Dish to set up the install...

    Dead hopper?

Same thing is happening to my Hopper 3. Goes black. Switching channels gets it to come back. One time it didn't come back and I had to do a restart. Chad

Hopper 3, one Joey, four TVs?

A few things to think about before you purchase. First, this does not look like it will transmit 4K video. If you didn't care about 4K then no big deal. 2nd, Will it cooperate with copy written material. HDMI can be pretty finicky due to copy protection. I believe the latest standard is HDCP...

    Hopper Upgrades

I have 2 722's fed to my HD televisions by a component matrix switch in my basement. Because of this setup, I can't use Joey's due to the fact I cannot feed the HDMI throughout the house. I would like to replace and upgrade my 2 722's to at least 2, but hopefully 3 hoppers. Could someone from...

    Questions about The Hopper?

I asked this in another thread, but maybe this thread will get me the answer. I have all my equipment in my basement and use IR to control my equipment. Will the IR on the Hoppers and Joey's just use the standard Dish network addresses? (Answer from Scott - Just Address 1 like the 922. You...

    Hopper/Joey IR?

I hope that is not the case because it will suck for custom installers and customers who have distributed audio and video systems in their home. Hopefully Scott knows or could ask the Dish Network folks. Chad

    Hopper/Joey IR?

I have all my equipment in my basement and use IR to control my equipment. Will the IR on the Hoppers and Joey's just use the standard Dish network addresses? I have 2 722's right now and one is set to address 1 and the other to address 2 and this works great. If I upgraded to 2 Hoppers and a...

DISH Hopper coming at CES ?

Maybe I missed this earlier in the thread, but do you need a Joey to view programming off the hopper or can you view programming off the hopper alone? For example, I would need the ability to watch 3 things at once. Would I be able to get away with 2 Hoppers and 1 Joey. Thanks, Chad

Sling Adapter: Unable to watch recordings

Are people still having problems with this bug? Anybody have any information on the progress of this bug fix? I just got my sling adaptor yesterday and I am having this same problem. My 722 receiver is distributed throughout my house by a matrix switch, so I need and want to keep it in single...

    FIRST LOOK: 622 Review!

Scott, Do you know if you can control TV2 with IR using the dual mode? I know you can't on the 942. If so, it would enable me to use dual mode instead of single with my MX-800. Thanks, Chad

    Whats Next for Dish?

I am wondering when Dish has plans for their version of a Home Media Center? Scott showed us something about a DP777 or something a while back, but I have not heard anything since.

    Building a New House

If you want to distribute HDTV from a central location, you will have to run at least 4 coax. Three for component and one for audio, or at least 2 cat5(one may need to be shielded). Distributing HDMI would be more expensive to do, but there is always that copy right issue with component that...

Does this sound right about DNS

I live in the Cedar Rapids, IA DMA and applied for Chicago DNS and got denied. I called Dish and they said that the Chicago Station was the one that denied my waiver. This sounds possible because I called my local fox station and they said that they always approve waiver requests from where...

Is that business days or total days? Also, if they fail to respond will dish automatically grant the waiver? Thanks, Chad

    1/9 Charlie Chat Recap

I currently own a 942 receiver and a 508. I would like to keep my 508, and get 2 VIP 622's. Is the rebate for the return of the leased 942, or just for existing HD customers. If I only get one rebate it would make sense to buy one VIP 622 as soon as they come out. I would hold on to my 942...

    Plasma for SD viewing

Take this for what it is worth. I have a 61 inch Samsung 1080P(ISF calibrated) hooked up by HDMI cables from my 942. The calibration makes SD look acceptable. HDTV looks fricken awesome. I have a 42 inch Panasonic Plasma in my bedroom that is hooked up by the RF modulator on my 942 and the...

Most likely upgrade path for existing customers - discussion

I will give Echostar until summer to come up with a reasonable upgrade path. D* won't have their HD DVR until then, so it wouldn't make sense for me to switch until I could switch to something equivelent.

The best REMOTE for E* equipment!!

I would check out the Home Theater Master MX-500. For about the same price, it has more functionality than the URC-200. It is easy to program using just the remote, but if you want to use your computer the IR-clone works great. I have a 508 and 921 and it functions great with them.

    MX700 remote and 921

To get the PIP functions, go to remote central and download a PVR721 file with your appropriate remote code. I did that for my MX-500 and it seems to work alright although I hardly ever use them.

Tech Chat. What was the big surprise?

They mentioned that name based recording would be coming this summer on the 501/508/511/522 and later this year on the 921 and fall for the 721. What I was wondering, does anyone now if they will offer something the equivalent to the season pass. I can't imagine the number of recordings you...
