Possible to view recorded file sizes?

Is it possible to view the recorded shows actual file size? I'd like to get some rough bitrate estimates. I believe if you transfer the show to an external HDD then it will show you the actual file size, but I'm hoping I don't have to do that. Thanks!

List of broadcast resolutions/bitrates? (i.e. source resolution)

Are there any lists of what broadcasts are actually sending before it hits cable/satellite networks? For example, I've heard that the History Channel is only on a 465 MHz system so their source material is going to require a much lower bitrate to retransmit, etc. Also, are the broadcasting in...

    Cheapest option for four TVs?

Thanks, I understand. We are almost always only using one TV at a time, but we want the option to use different ones, etc. Anyways, the HDMI + TOSLINK (Optical) cable worked great. I have an advanced HDMI matrix switch that allows me to change the EDID so in order to only send PCM 2-channel...

    Cheapest option for four TVs?

Krell, can you explain? I need the HDMI to carry PCM only (2.0 channels), and the TOSLINK to carry 5.1. The settings in the Hopper I think are "Dolby Digital/PCM" or "PCM only". If I select "Dolby Digital" then the HDMI will carry 5.1 which won't work for my upstairs TV. If I select "PCM...

    Cheapest option for four TVs?

Actually... how is the virtual joey (PS3/PS4) as well? That might be another option for me... (except it's the same $7/month fee), but is the quality the same as a regular Joey?

    Cheapest option for four TVs?

We don't watch (or even record) much TV in our house, but we have several TVs because we use multiple rooms: Upstairs family room (hopper) Kitchen (joey) Bedroom (joey) It looks like it costs $7/month per Joey, but is there a discount if I want to add a third or would it be 3x $7/month? I...

DISH New Hopper Transfers Delivers DVR Recordings to iPad

Ahhh, OK! So is it a pretty good guess that it's "probably" coming to the iPhone? I thought maybe Dish was restricting it for some reason...

Hopper with Sling: Is the integrated "Slingbox" upgraded from original Hopper?

Hmmm... I'm looking on my iPhone right now and I see "Updated: Jan 16, 2013". That is interesting if the speed increase when streaming video is due to the new application... I thought it was the new Hopper that was causing it to start so quickly, etc.

Hopper with Sling: Is the integrated "Slingbox" upgraded from original Hopper?

Hmmm, what do you mean by "new dish app" ? Are you talking about the iPhone "Dish Anywhere" application? If so, I don't think it's new, is it? Also, what did you mean by "new servers" being used? (Sorry for the questions, I'm just not sure what you meant) Thanks!

DISH New Hopper Transfers Delivers DVR Recordings to iPad

Any idea why this isn't this available on the iPhone? I upgraded to the Hopper 2.0 and really love it (the speed is great!) but I was disappointed that the Hopper Transfers doesn't work on the iPhone...

Hopper with Sling: Is the integrated "Slingbox" upgraded from original Hopper?

Is there any difference in the standalone Sling adapter (for original Hopper and 722k, etc) and the integrated Sling adapter in the "Hopper with Sling" ? I've read that the Hopper with Sling includes a "Slingbox 500" and the older standalone Sling adapter is using an older version, etc...

Moving to new house - Can I upgrade to Hopper w/Sling at the same time?

Thanks! Also, I have another question... Right now my new house has a DirecTV dish on the roof. I'm expecting the Dish installer to replace it and install the Dish Network sat on the roof as well but what happens if he disagrees and wants it on the ground or side of the house? My current...

Moving to new house - Can I upgrade to Hopper w/Sling at the same time?

OK - Thanks for the replies. I was interested in Hopper Transfers which is why I wanted the upgrade. I already have the sling adapter for my current Hopper.

Moving to new house - Can I upgrade to Hopper w/Sling at the same time?

I'm moving to a new house this weekend and am getting ready to schedule "DishMover" to come and install a dish at my new house. I'm also VERY interested in the new Hopper w/sling. However, I just upgraded to the regular Hopper a couple of months ago... I'm not sure if the new Hopper is even...

What are my chances of getting a Dish technician to setup my LNB with all three cables...?

Can the 1000.2 be used for eastern arc? If so, is it just 72.7 and 61.5?

What are my chances of getting a Dish technician to setup my LNB with all three cables...?

I'm moving to a new house and will be using "Dish Mover" to have Dish Network installed at my new house. At my existing house, I'm on the Eastern Arc (1000.4 LNBF) but only have one Hopper so am only using 2 out of 3 LNB RG6 feeds. At my new house, I'll still only be using one Hopper, but in...

FIRST LOOK - Hopper OTA Module

OK - I've done my research... It looks like MoCA operates on the same frequencies as the OTA frequencies so a diplexer won't work. However, I think if you use ethernet to connect the Hopper and Joey then it might work ...? (since you don't need MoCA then)
  18. S

FIRST LOOK - Hopper OTA Module

I don't use MoCA (unless that's how the Joey communicates to the Hopper) so I don't think that would be a problem. @joekawasaki: are you diplexing an OTA antenna feed to the Hopper or something else?

FIRST LOOK - Hopper OTA Module

Errr, I'm wondering if I can place both the satellite signal(s) AND the OTA signal onto the same coax so I don't have to run another coax cable to my Hopper/OTA receiver...

Is it possible to diplex my antenna line onto the line going to my Hopper?

Can the Joey remote change TV inputs so I can watch Bluray, etc?

Can you have the [Aux] button send an IR command _and_ switch the remote to [Aux] mode? (i.e. can I learn a command to the [Aux] button itself?)
  22. S

Can the Joey remote change TV inputs so I can watch Bluray, etc?

Yeah, I guess I'm sort-of asking for a macro. The only tricky part is that I'd like the "Aux" button (or DVD, or whatever) to send a change input command to my TV _and_ switch the remote to Bluray mode. I have several universal remotes but I do like the RF capability of the Dish remote which...

Can the Joey remote change TV inputs so I can watch Bluray, etc?

How advanced is the Joey remote? I'd like it to control my Bluray player but it's on a different HDMI input on my TV. It seems like I need to do this: 1) Press TV power button 2) Press Input (to switch TV inputs) 3) Press+hold aux to switch modes Now the problem is that to watch satellite...

Dish Online: Why aren't my timers showing up? (re: Hopper)

OK - I've tried creating a new timer online but it didn't refresh my other timers and even that new timer doesn't show up. I'll try creating one on the DVR itself when I go home and see what happens...

Dish Online: Why aren't my timers showing up? (re: Hopper)

Yeah, my 722k worked 100% perfect with Dish Online. I've had a lot of problems with my Hopper though.
