Hello I need your help. On some channels only (two that come immediately to mind are 501 and 218) I get the 771 error. I would like to try to fix it myself if possible and avoid the wait of getting someone out to fix it. I have tried the red reset button on the receiver and that didnt work, I also tried to reset via the menu. Are there any other things that I can try to solve the problem? Also as an aside, I have the full package, which satellites do I search on in the settings section there are a number of them....would it be only 99 and 103? I have the music channels, HD, movie channels in the 500's, and no international channels if that helps you answer my question. Thanks in advance.

well lets start with some questions
-what receiver model?
-what do the signal show on the transponders?

101 is the SD channels
99(C) and 103(CA) and 103(CB) have the nationwide HD stations

and from looking at your previous posts I take it you are at your "near Buffalo" location?

Your geographical recollection is excellent.... yes I am "near Buffalo".... a long way from Delaware. So my receiver model is H24-700 and here are the readouts on the transponders:

99c:
T1-14 all 0
T15-32 all N/A

101:
all are in the mid to high 90's except T18 which is 70 and T26 which is 0

103cb:
T1-8 all high 80's low 90's
T9-14 high 80's
T16-32 all N/A

103ca:

T1-8 all N/A
T9-16 all high 80's or low 90's
T17-24 I'll list them 88,79,93,83,90,81,93,86
T25-32 all N/A

I hope that is what you were looking for if not just let me know. thanks.

Looks like a failed LNB, you're getting signal on everything except 99. Do you have a clear LOS?

I believe I do have a clear LOS. It was working early in the week I went away and came back on Friday and had this result. There was a storm while I was away (not sure how strong it was) could that be the cause or would a misalignment affect the reception with all of the satellites not only 99c?

It's not an alignment problem. You have a failed LNB on the dish and will need a service call to replace. Possible it could be a cable issue but not very likely. Only other thing it could be is something in the way of the dish.
