Live TV from Direct TV to PC

Hi All - New here, love the site.

I was wondering if there is a way to get live TV to my PC via my Direct TV HD DVR. I know there is a new program "DIRECTV2PC" but this appears to only work with stored shows.

I would like to stream local channels (news, sports, etc) without having to record them and watch later. I do have the DTV recieved networked already and i can ping it.

Any thoughts, ideas, already done old news.....

You can use a Sling Box or a Vulkano Box

With DirecTV2PC you can start a recording and watch it begining almost immediately (less than a minute) while it is recording, so near-live.

You can record program on DVR and watch it at the same time using DIRECTV2PC. It's almost live, just lags about a minute or so.

using the slingbox can i watch a differnt program on the direct tv and local channels on the PC? or does it have to be what is playing on the DTV?

Any tried the SiliconDust - HDHomeRun Network-based Dual Digital - HDTV Tuner Ethernet Interface??

I don't have one, but researched it a while ago. SlingBox just relays whatever your reciever is tuned in to.
