If you get a Hopper before 5/23/2013, the DVR fee stays at $10, if you get it after it will be $12.

The receiver fee for the second Hopper will change for EVERYONE on 5/23/2013 from $7 to $12.

So if you get your second hopper system before 5/23/2013 you avoid the $2 increase in the DVR fee, but not the increase in the receiver fee.

I am soooooo tempted.

It was going to cost me $10 more per month before the proposed increases, now it would be $15 instead of the first proposed $21 which I balked at.

I think I'll pull the trigger on this one, all else being equal.

First Hopper will remain $10/mo, second will remain $7/mo. I've read the retailer announcement 3x to make sure.

There will be no fee change for all pre-existing Hopper customers (as of 5/22/13) when the change takes effect 5/22/13.

I thought that at 1st also, but a 2+ hopper account remains the same & is grand fathered.

I've reconsidered & will do my upgrade this weekend. Kind of looking forward to it.

I was one of the hyper pro active subs who dropped a Joey and changed from AEP to AT200 w/2 premiums in anticipation of the increase. The other Hopper user in the house and I have found that we're not missing anything we liked with the AT200, and Dish gave us the 4 prems for half price for 6 months when I downgraded so I got a good deal in the end. I'm going to reactivate the Joey if it doesn't extend my contract.

Beware of the fine print.

Customers on pause or restarting service will lose their grandfathered status.

Thats the way I read it too..

I have a feeling a bunch of SatelliteGuys members will be calling for Hopper upgrades before the 22nd.

Maybe if they will let you replace a Joey with a third Hopper. However I have no real need for HWS because I do not have a tablet (for mobile transfers) and I already have sling adapters for my Hoppers.

I will be adding a hws and moving a joey into my daughters room. I still may look at downgrading my package though, still have to see if there is anything that will be missed.

Do we have a credible independently verifiable source for these pricing rumors?

I ask because... people were going nuts (perhaps justifiably so too) the last week or so based on rumored price increases coming on 5/22... and now it would seem the latest rumor is more palatable.Discussing rumor is fine, we do that a lot here... but it would be nice to label rumor as rumor, rather than present it as fact (like the last rumor apparently) and get people excited over something that might not be true.

Once again Mr. Venon fails to realize that the orional new pricing was posted by a DISH Network employee. To me that does not make what he said a "rumor."

The new pricing which I posted here today is not a rumor either as it was sent out in a document to all retailers.

Everytime we post something and break the news before them (which is frankly all the time) they downplay it and say its an unfounded rumor.

Please Mr. Vernon get your head out of your ass, your even am embarrassment to your own website. Way to go!

Now with that said, I do want to echo that I do HONESTLY believe that your feedback is what caused a change.

You should have seen the DISH Retailer Portal they were going nuts posting stuff from here to there and telling DISH what a stupid move it was.

In addition I appeared this past Wednesday night on the "Satellite Nation" radio show and told my honest feelings to Charlie and DISH about the prices that were posted here.

This is not the PR DISH needs at the moment... and I think they got it.

It was YOU GUYS using your voice here that made the difference, and on behalf of the other 2 million Hopper users... I THANK YOU!

Here is a list of the new DISH Network pricing effective May 23rd, 2013. Some of this pricing is different then what has been discussed before so please take note! (Also remember you read it here first at SatelliteGuys. If you post this information elsewhere make sure you mention you saw it here at SatelliteGuys.)

Existing Customer Hopper / Hopper With Sling DVR Fee- $10 a month (No Change)
Existing Customer with Additional Hopper / Hopper With Sling DVR Fee - $10 a month (No Change)
New Hopper / Hopper with Sling Subscribers DVR Fee- $12 a month ($2.00 a month increase)

Existing Customer Hopper with Sling Additional Receiver Fee - $7 a month (No Change)
Existing Customer Hopper / Hopper with Sling Adding an Addition Hopper / Hopper with Sling after May 22nd - $12.00 a month ($5 a month increase)
New Hopper / Hopper with Sling Customers - $12 a month ($5 a month increase)

NO INCREASE IN FEE ON THE JOEY RECEIVERS

Programming Changes

DishLATINO Plus - Going from $37.99 to $41.99 a month ($4 a month increase)
Multi-Sport Package - Going from $9.00 a month to $11.00 a month ($2 a month increase)
Outdoor Sports Package - Going from $3.00 a month to $4.00 a month ($1 a month increase)

I have the original hopper with two Joeys. Will my charges be the same? I have a Sling but isn't the built in one like the new Hopper.
