I have just completed my setup to 129 w to take a closer look at WhiteSprings TV and so far I am very disapponted what I have found::eek:

Their website states:

"White Springs TV delivers primarily classic movies, and made for TV movies from the '60s, '70s and '80s. All 6000+ titles are presented in high quality digital format and without commercial interruption. ":hungry:

However, When I checked their actual weekly schedule, there are barely any movies from '60s, '70 and '80--most of them from the '20, '30s, '40s and '50s.

As for the "high quality format"; the actual picture resolution is 480x 480; this is the worst quality picture I have never ever seen on any satellite.

"Without commercial interruption"; the commercials are so many and they last so long that it is hard to remember what happened before !

Also It looks like this is the only channel on 129w ?

But otherwise, you're pretty happy with it?

Their website claims the movies are shown without commercial interruptions. They have commercials before and after movies and in between cartoons and other tv programs. So when they show commercials they show a lot of them.

...only $29.95...!

After giving it a test-drive, I took my little dish down.

However, if others like it, more power to 'em!

...hrmmm... if I shoot my own crappy commercial, I wonder what it'd cost to run it on Whitesprings?
I might become the next Ron Popeil !

White springs PQ isn't great but so what. They do have some interesting stuff. I have enjoyed it also and the price was right. Just needed to slap a second LNBF on my G-10 dish :)

Maybe I'm weird , but I find an interesting movie on White Springs TV fairly often. I like old 50's and 60's Science Fiction B-movies and they do turn up on WS. I have also seen made for tv movies from the 70's that I haven't seen in years.

The video side is kept up to satisfy FCC requirements that you need to keep your licenses active and to promote their uplink service.
Whitesprings TV makes thier money on data and video uplinks as well as radio feeds (which you can find on that satellite, also).

I stuck an extra LNB on my G-10 dish for Whitesprings and although I haven't had it set up in over a month 'cause I just moved, I consider any extra channel on FTA with English speaking content a bonus. I would tune to it every now and then and find at least something there that wasn't too bad.
As someone else said, the price is right.

I'm just in the process of setting up my first dish aimed at g10 and may add an extra LNB to get Whitespring ..... about 1 hour in with a signal and am re-hooked ..... reminds me of my childhood with the big c-band dish out at the farm :)

My mother in law who is in her 80's loves watching White Springs when she stays at our house. She especially likes the musicals.

I wonder if they will be showing any old horror flicks for Halloween.

Will a regular standard LNB pick up this channel, or would I use a circular LNB since Dish Network is also using this location?

Standard/universal linear works fine. I thought about scanning with the circular though. I thought I read somewhere that there was another PBS channel on that bird in the clear and I love PBS!
