Tomorrow (Saturday) evening I will be attending the final game there. Should be a crazy evening...I expect that some will try to tear down the stadium after the game.

I would think that this will change UM football a bit. Fans will be a little different. They are a small school so a lot of there fans are just the locals but they will be playing quite a ways away from the stadium.

I too will be there...it should be agreat game with a bowl like atmosphere. As much as I hate to see the Orange Bowl go, time has not been too kind to her.....and it is time for the future...and hopefully, that future is a new retractable roof stadium for the Marlins. Though I PREFFER it somewhere ELSE(that is for another topic/thread).....if that is the best place to put it.....so be it.

Indeed, especially when Michigan does not play their games in the Orange Bowl. Oh, I see...you actually meant Miami (FL).;)

Remember:

UM = University of Michigan
Miami (FL) - the 50th winningest team in I-A football history
Miami (OH) - the 20th winningest team in I-A football history

AN obvious NORTHERNER....;)DOWN SOUTH, "UM" is for the University of Miami for the 'old schoolers'....for the younger folks, it's just "The U".

NATIONAL FOOTBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS....

Miami of Ohio = 0, zilch, nothing, nada, bubkis.....
THE U = 5....most by any school in the last 25 years.:D

Please do not put THEM with The U in the same breath....;)

The marlins will be out of Miami soon , in a different city. Harvey

They....MLB.... won't allow it. I see a stadium where the Orange Bowl is standing or in the Hialeah location(for those that know the Miami area....west of Hialeah, just off I-75 before Miami Gardens Drive)...which for ALL involved...would be the IDEAL location.....and the one I PREFFER.

Yup, want to kill a baseball team? Send it to FLorida. NO attendance.

Funny thing, with ALL of the hispanics in the state from baseball hotbeds like Puerto Rico, Cuba, Dominican Republic and Venezuela...I can assure you that very few states have MORE baseball fans, but unfortunately, they just don't go to games. Tampa is different, the ownership has NEVER made an effort to spend ANY money on that team AND the stadium is THE most disgustingly atrocious stadium of ANY kind! I have seen approx. 10 games there and it jus plain sucks!

Virginia embarrasses Miami in final game at Orange Bowl

Full Story at ESPN.com

I hear that Miami (FL) will be playing their home games at Miami-Dade County Corrections next year since their players and fans spend so much time behind bars... Talk about your home turf advantage. I also hear the team will be changing their colors to prison jumpsuit orange and jail cell gray next fall... Looks like the Felons of Miami (FL) will finish out the season with punishing back-to-back-to-back losses to Virginia, Virginia Tech and Boston College for an impressive 5-7 record. Hey, I just realized the FL stands for Felons....Miami (FeLons).:p

Vurbano...fans have no time to attend baseball when they are incarcerated or too stoned to make it out the door. I believe ESPN got it right when they used the works "embarrass" and "Miami" in the same sentence; the epitome of a shameful college football program.;)

LMAO:haha:haha:haha

As much as a dumbass comment like that deserves to put on ignore....I would miss the NEXT dumbass comment.

So PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE keep 'em coming...!:up:hungry:

Eventually, I'd say a few years ....maybe the year after next.

I will say they will be prominent in 2 years. When you are litterally building from scratch...with VERY little to work with....you will get worse before you get better. ALL teams eventually go through it...that is why you should NEVER talk too much trash...because what comes around goes around...;)

I was Born in Columbus, OH ...raised in Midland, MI and moved to South FL between my Junior and Senior year in high school. It was very tough getting used to UM being "Miami" when I thought of "UM" being Michigan or Miami being Miami of Ohio. Factor in that I am a huge ND fan and you probably won't find two schools with as much dislike for each other. I would refuse to Go to the Orange Bowl when ND came down in the mid to late 80's because the UM fans would spit on you throw stuff at you and pick fights. Worst fans I have ever seen. I went to this game out of respect of one of my best friends that loves Miami and flew in from Seattle to go to the game. I have to admit that I did have a little chuckle over the score.

BTW....UM.. the U...is not the worst team in college football. Right now it is Notre Dame that has that honor.

Well, I don't think MOST UM fans are bad. BUT, some KNOWING you are Notre Dame fan...I would not surprised, they acted that way. UM fans DID NOT take kindly to "catholics vs. the convicts" bull**** that was started by Notre Dame fans back in the 80s. And I would not make a big issue about Notre Dame not being good, like I said before...ALL teams go through these types of cycles. Traditional powerhouses like the Miami, Florida State, Notre Dame, Auburn, Alabama and Illinois have WAY TOO MUCH attraction and talent within their surrounding areas to be down for too long. Those comment s were MORE directed towards ME than the respected schools...:D:rolleyes:

EDIT: I forgot to add, you comments proved also that the "UM" thing is a regional thing. Down south, "UM" is used by the old school folks for the University of Miami...and up north for the University of Michigan.
