Hi, I changed my service address yesterday. And now my 622 isn't receiving a signal. It just keeps cycling through the satellites checking for a signal.

Is this something I can fix myself?

Thanks, I'm at work now but I will try that when I get home. How do I reboot it?

That's those efficient Dish techs. They came and moved the dish antenna to your new address when you weren't looking!

:D

I "moved", but I actually moved back to my real address from my fake address so I can have dish come and do some installation work. So I made no changes to my actual hardware, Dish or receiver.

I did the reboot and it still didn't work. I can get the get the guide but none of the channels are coming in.

So I ran the check switch, but I'm not sure exactly what "results" you are referring to. There is just a bunch of boxes with numbers or letters in them that don't mean much to me.

Thanks, all, for the help!

Wait, do I need to change the transponder or anything? I can't remember what I changed when I originally moved to the fake address last year. I don't remember changing anything then, but I could be wrong.

You should see Green or Red for each satellite. For example, 119 green, 110 green, 129 red.

Can you tell us exactly what channels you're missing? Are you missing all of them or just your locals?

You would miss locals if you subscribe to locals that are spotbeamed to the area you left. In the install summary the results after the test should be like satellite 119/110/129 trans ok ok ok or a bunch of x's and what switch box is detected? Are you seeing any error messages like acquiring satellite signal? Whats going on?

If you're missing locals...

it has been my experience that they don't often appear upon moving back to "square 1". Another call inquiring where are my locals usually takes care of it.

Satellite not acquiring signal...

is another issue. Changing locations shouldn't eliminate all the channels. Sounds like equipment trouble, or they pushed a wrong button and eliminated you :(

Well I asked to verify its all channels talk to customer all day and you can see why I like to verify, people say there is nothing on my screen when it says error 015 acquiring flat out on it. He needs to run checkswitch and reply with what the results are to move any further.
