BCS has no say over going to a +1 model. The Division 1A University Presidents have to agree to it (the same guys who are preventing a playoff) as it would require a rules change.

The biggest obstacle would be Big Ten Commissioner Delaney, who feels that the +1 concept would diminish the Rose Bowl. I think his IQ is "diminishing " everytime he goes to the bathroom.

Can I change my vote? Anybody else get a sense of Deja Vu last night? This game looked like a replay of last years disaster. LSU beat them the same way Florida did. Tressell didn't have his team prepared for this game either. OSU is becoming the Buffalo Bills of the NCAA. (I don't want to diminish the accomplishment of getting to the game 2 years in a row though).
I agree. Michigan may not be able to beat Ohio State---or Appalachian State for that matter---but according to ESPN they are 23-5 against the SEC and 7-3 in bowl games. Perhaps they can fill in for the Buckeyes when they play against an SEC opponent. Anyway, I was convinced Tressel was going to beat Les Miles since he is a Michigan man. I honestly can't made head or tails out of OSUs record versus the SEC...it's like Boston and the Babe Ruth curse.

Congrats to both teams on fine two-loss seasons.

Wonder what would have happened if OSU had played Oklahoma, and LSU played USC in round one of the theoretical playoffs.

My guess - the championship game would still have been a blowout, but LSU might have ended up 4th in the rankings after losing to USC.

Congrats to Les Miles and the whole LSU team for a great performance.

really disappointed the AP didn't decide to vote USC number one in their poll for a split national championship. truthfully, i think the trojans would have decimated the tigers!!

Actually, Les Miles said he would've used the Stanford game plan had LSU played USC, so the Tigers would've prevailed most likely. Sorry the AP pollsters let you down.;)

Yep, after the fact it looks like the LSU vs USC would have been a better game with OSU vs OU for the consolation cup. In any case, what a crazy year in college football. (just a few off the top of my head)

- Top Teams all have two losses
- Michigan has arse handed to them by Appalachian State
- Notre Dame goes 3-9 (could have been worse)
- Miami finished 5-7 and doesn't make a bowl appearance
- Nebraska 5-7 (horrific defense)
- Florida State eeks out 7-6 record (loses to Kentucky in bowl)
- Alabama finishes 7-6
- Illinois plays in the Rose Bowl
- Hawaii plays in a New Years Day bowl
- Appalachian State could have beaten a lot of top names this year

The college football landscape is sure a lot more competitive than in years past.

Same could have been said about the Bulldogs.

If the Rose Bowl hadn't gave the Big 10 Illinois team a mercy bid, then we could have seen a truly terrific game between USC and UGa.

The trojans couldn't decimate Stanford. STANFORD! Anytime you lose to a 41 point underdog, you don't deserve to be national champions. To put that loss into perspective, insiders said that had their been a line on the App State - Michigan game, Michigan would have been favored by 21 points.

There was a line- Michigan -30.5.

How strong is the SEC?? LSU won the national championship and probably was not even the best team in the conference, Georgia probably was.:)

Georgia didn't even do enough this year to win their conference division. They get a little hot at the end by beating worn down teams, are lucky to get an invite to a vacant BCS bowl, and talking heads start saying they should've deserved to be college football champions.

The little Dawggies need to walk the walk in the SEC, then they can talk the talk. :D

Mets get Santana??

Georgia Frontiere Rams and NFL's ONLY Female owner dies
