New HD on DishNetwork? "Soon" might be right around the corner...

Thanks for pulling this out of pub... I didn't mind waiting a few days to see what the ruckus was about...

Wish I could afford to be a pub member but I will still say thanks for what you guys do.

I'd like to add:
BBCA HD would be worth it for Top Gear alone!

What would E* do if there was a network called "Soon"? My guess is compress the hell out of it and offer it only in SD. And, of course, it would be available...soon! Thanks for this fantastic site and it's great to be a pub member!

You must not watch the 'preview' shows downloaded to the 622 / 722. I watched a food network show on there (SD) and the compression actually looked like MPEG1 vids from the old Win3.1 days. What does the banner say when you watch 'em "SOON1, SOON2, SOON3" :) :) :)

Actually it's a la carte for -$4.99/month. It actually lowers your bill if you subscribe to it.

Thats not good enough. To get the discount you have to actually watch the channel for a certain number of hours per month. Leaving it on and going to do the dishes doesnt count. If you are not sitting there watching it they will know.

Except that - like most of the BBC programming -Top Gear is NOT filmed in HD.

BBC-HD shows American Movies to fill up the 9 hours per day of broadcasting.

The only program currenly airing on BBC-HD that is probably of interest to members here is "Torchwood", and the new season is airing on HD-Net starting February 11th - only a few weeks after it started on BBCA...

With the Tech chat coming tomorrow, lets hope they say something about these channels. If not I assume someone will send in a question.

That would all be great but surprised not to see Speed HD in that list of 15 coming soon channels but did see Fuel HD when Dish doesn't even carry the sd version. Also Directv does have HDnet and Hdnet Movies

Looks like whoever owns the domain registered it as a private that's why it's showing only the Network Solutions contact info where the domain is registered.

Weird site. Dish-network.com? Are they a regional reseller?

He must read this website :)

One thing's for sure, he definitely works for E* if he used the word, "Soon."
