Deinterlacing 4:2:2 video, what to use

Guess that's why I love TSReader and VLC/MPC. Just click and go.

I tried MyTheater over a year ago and hated it...just too clunky to get around. I use the STB for normal SD FTA viewing and scanning, I love the ability to just punch in the frequency and SR and go without having to scan stuff.
Well I downloaded TSReader Lite and tried to give it a shot.

I couldn't get the card to initialize with it even after disabling the Twinhan drivers.

Just couldn't get it to budge.

Maybe you can figure out why I can't get TSReader Lite to open up. :)

My card can work with either and will have to check out what version that I am using if you need that info. I am not on that PC so will get back to you on it if you need it.
I started out with the BDA drivers that Saar has modified in MT, but yesterday, I downloaded the latest drivers from the Twinhan site for the card.

I discovered that they work fine with the LNBs, dish movement, and diseqc inside MT, so when I re-installed today, everything was working correctly, so I am using the latest drivers from Twinhan for this card.

If you can get the info that would be fine. No big rush on it.

Thanks!

Not sure I used the drivers from Twinhan and it worked fine in just about every program I threw at it.

version and dates

May I suggest mentioning the version and file dates of drivers that work?
I especially love the way Twinhan has (in the past) withdrawn working drivers and posted (only) new and broken drivers.

So, saying "latest" or "current" drivers means nothing.
Especially to anyone reading this thread a few months from now. - :eureka
Been up this creek before with them.

Here are the drivers I am using from Twinhan's website with the version number. Near the bottom of the page.
BDADriverV1.2.3.8_WHQL

They are working with MyTheatre very well. I may have to go back to Saar's driver, I couldn't seem to get a signal late last night with DVBDream. Yes I have it loaded just to see if it works.

The drivers included with MyTheatre say V1.2.2.8 in the .inf file.

So the Twinhan factory drivers are newer, but may not work with all programs. I will explore that further.

Edit: Just for everyone's information, TSReader Lite wouldn't work with the MT drivers either.

WDM Drivers

TSReader will not work with the latest drivers for the Twinhan cards. TSReader won't support it's BDA drivers, something that has affected a lot of people for months...I would've thought that they would have it worked out by now. The fix? You have to get the WDM drivers. The problem? Twinhan doesn't post them on their website anymore. There is a workaround. I had to go to archive.org and pull up Twinhan's website for this past July and download the old WDM drivers...then it worked like a charm. I attached them here for you, to save you some time. Your best bet is to uninstall your old drivers and install the new ones. They should work with MyTheatre, I don't see why not. And for the time being, I would back these drivers up somewhere safe because it might be a long time before there is an official fix. I don't see Twinhan releasing any compatible ones soon, and it may be a while before the guys at TSReader release a fix as well.

Graph building with Etymonix Softreel Codec 2.0 in Vista

Added to a working MyTheatre graph and will not display video.

Built a graph in graphedit (Render media file) using MPEG 2 Splitter as per FAQ's, and got playback, slideshow at best. Uninstalled

Thanks for trying.

At least I know where I am with it. :)

Doesn't seem to want to play with MyTheatre. Oh well, there is still Elecard.

I sent a tech support request to Softreel twice, still haven't heard back. Could be because of the holiday. Will know tomorrow if they are serious about supporting their product.

Well I am trying the WDM drivers that Starman345 had in his link. Here is the version number.
V2.4.1.0 WDM

I looked at the drivers that dashaund so graciously uploaded, but the inf file did not list the 1020, so I didn't give it a whirl.

The driver I have installed now does allow me to open TSReader Lite anyway, but does not work nearly as well in MyTheatre. Especially the optimise for wide-screen for SDTV. I even tried the IVR/OSD overlay which is nice, but puts the picture in SDTV mode instead of un-distorted wide-screen like I have been doing. The HD mode does not fill the whole screen like it was doing previously either.

Starman345 mentioned doing something with the IVR overlay to adjust the window size, I will have to re-read what he posted above.

I'll leave it like that a day or two and see if I can get it adjusted out.

My computer is down right now (motherboard went out...woo hoo! Sent to Intel for warranty fulfillment) or I would try some stuff and help you out. I am starting to regret getting my Twinhan...maybe I should've spent a little extra and got the Skystar, it seems more widely supported. I'm STILL having a problem with DVBDream and the audio renderer...it stays in red and won't let me do anything on any codec...but if I put it in renderless mode and let VLC work, it's fine. Weirdness. Anybodyy got anything I can try? Tried posting on the DVBDream forums and no one wants to reply.
