getting installed on the 29th after switching from DISH. I still had to pay a fee since my credit score could not be found. Along with the 200 dollar fee does my monthly payment get added on.:):):):)

After your DTV been activated, withing a week or so you should receive your first bill.

at this point since i am installing on the 29th i can not seem to enroll in autopay yet do i have to wait until installation to enroll.

The install has to be completed before you can set up for autopay, at this point you still are not in thier system

Correct, the installer is a contractor, not DirecTV and has not yet activated you and passed you off to DirecTV, thus making you a customer of theirs.

I also made the jump with the same install date ...I cannot wait for MSG-HD & Speed-HD

in this case my sports networks would be MASN and Comcast Sports Net Mid Atlantic. As in E* do you still get your regional sports networks as part of your base package.

Today is also my Install appointment 8am to 12pm and still no call I guess I need patience, just excited. Hope they call soon, knowing my luck it will be at the end of appointment time.

Please be aware that if you get a no call no show/late show, or any other issues with installation, talk to DirecTV not the installer company to complain, you will get $100 credit for a no show, and DirecTV will contact the installation for you which often gets things turned around much faster than if you try to solve things yourselve with the installer. But do so only if the installer is clearly in the wrong. They don't get paid much by DirecTV at all so I would tip them if they do a great job.

The installer came today there was no wrong done at all.

My D* install was done today ...they reused all the E* wires and just changed out the switch-installed a new dish and replaced the receivers... the installer also took down the E* dishes off the roof 4 me ... when I called to cancel E* they offered me 1 month free service and told me that when I get my 1st bill I will see how much more expensive D* is .. I politely declined ... so far I think the HR21 is pretty comparable to the 622 -the 622 seems a little better but I would rather have the channels I want than the extra features ... MSG-HD and Speed-HD look awesome - I think I made the right move

Right you are D* charges 1 to 2 dollars more per package put their service is still good.

Nice to hear guys :)

let us know if or when you find any "features" that you like - cos I'm still finding some one week in ... maybe there are some out there that I've missed .. (in fact I'm sure there are)

remember that the mail-in rebate (for $18 per month) will not show on your first one - maybe two bills ... you can also put the rebate through online .. might speed things up a little ... www.directv.com/rebate

:)

I went to get my own rebate for the 18 dollars and had just submitted it when my connection stopped . i went through the process again and this time it said i was not eligible. Could it be the rebate went through already:confused:
