And now the best part of the show...

Leslie Harper with Tech News.

Leslie announces that external receivers can be moved between 622's and 722's and the 612! Your not locked into one receiver now!

And that does it for Tech News

I can confirm that the external hard drives can be moved. Just moved both of my externals to the opposite receivers and no problems. COOL! I can watch movies as much as I want in either room now. :up

I don't understand Dish's LiL rollout, Jacksom Ms, Huntsville Al, what about New Orleans. We are much bigger than Jackson and Huntsville, and I believe we ar all under the same spotbeam. I don't understand, and I know it isn't because New Orleans locals won't play ball because Direct has had all 4 New Orleans locals for months. What is up with this, should Dish light up the cities with the bigger population first?

They should do pre-orders on the TR-40's. My cards expire in May, so I won't be able to get a TR-40 if they don't.

Pal?? are the folks at Dish asleep----If I went into a retail store and saw the Samsung Box and the PAL Box I would Bu y Samsung because as everyone knowa Pal is for Europe. Morons they should have used a better name.

Gee. Call it "PAL".

That won't cause any confusion during the NTSC to ATSC transition.

doh, Tom beat me by 11 minutes. heck, I'm not deleting my post. I shouldn't have sat on the edit screen so long. :D

Think about it, most people do not know a thing about PAL. If they did most would not be they would know the box is not for Europe. It is confusing to you but not to most consumers, because they do not know one from the other. The way I see it if you know about PAL chances are you are tech savy anyway. Remember the average consumer will not question the name, just purchase and go.

No, this is a GOOD thing...hopefully the masses will pass on the PAL box and buy the ones in a more sophisticated-looking box. But, WE know better...thus, there will be plenty of PAL boxes in stock for us who know what kind of quality is inside the less-than-quality packaging:D

Last I heard, Mobile will be missing NBC.

That would be strange for NBC not to go there.. No issues with the SD version down here.. And according to the uplink report it has been uplinked.. But this is Dish so nothing is ever for sure with them. For all I know they won't even make them available tomorrow..

There's a crazy business formula somewhere based on the backhaul costs, POP costs, etc.

Why Jackson though? That's where the uplink facility is and there's probably no fiber required to get them to the uplink facility. Just put the OTA equipment right there and feed it in.

billing.

Although I think this time around it would be fun to send them to your service address since thats where you need the cards. (not) ;)
