AM21 not digital compatable?

The OTA stations appear alongside sat stations int he guide. Just select the OTA station fromt he guide. It's seemless.

The OTA signal and satellite signal are different sources and if one is having trouble it doesn't prevent the other from working. The satellite signal will run into the back of the HR21 and the OTA goes to the back of the AM21 which is then feed to the HR21 through the USB port. Two different and independent input sources that are integrated to the guide together.

On my HR20-700, there are two separate jacks too. One for sat and one for OTA and they work independently as well. I've always been able to watch OTA when rain fade has knocked out my satellite signal.

It does not scan. It uses the same database as the HR20.

As part of the setup, you enter your zip code and it uses a database (occasionally there are errors, but it is rare).
