DISH Network Charges Forward With Another Round of National HD Channel Launches

I probably watch SpikeHD more than anything on a daily basis...

What programming is on SpikeHD? Looking at their offerings, do they produce a lot of stuff or is it rerun stuff that they show?

Was Star Trek DS9 or Voyager shot on film?

Not to put too fine a point on things, but there is no TIMEFRAME mentioned for completion of this. It says Dish will launch something Monday. Not which ones. And not how long it will be before they launch all of them.

It says they all of them (except the two RSN's) will launch on Monday. I am told by Dish that they will be on by 5pm ET tomorrow.

CSI repeats now in HD (I watch them all of the time) and movies such as Star Wars (which I am currently watching)

CSNBA HD! All right. Can't wait till Wed!
If you watch Giants games, trust me when I say you haven't missed much. Over the last 2 weeks, CSNBA HD has only shown about 2 of the Giants games in HD (counting today's game). It is only a part time game only station as well. The A's on the other hand seem to be shown in HD a lot on this station.

Ahh, alright, I never got into CSI. I would like to see addition of Spike because at some point I'm sure there will be stuff I will want on there. I want FX b/c they always seem to be showing movies that I like but look terrible in SD!

Thank you Scott for the great news, Charlie did come through for all HD subs, I speak as a D* HD sub.

Did not read through this thread, I assume all will be in the $30 HD-only pack except the premium HDs of course?

Yes they will, that $30 HD only package is starting to become the best deal in television. :)

I would drop down to it, but my wife loves Tru TV which is not in HD.

Congrats Dish subs. You guys are finally getting what you have been waiting for. I would love for Direct to add two of the channels you are getting that we currently don't have (ABC Family HD and The Travel Channel HD). Hallmark Movie channel and the fishing channel aren't my cup of tea. You guys can keep those.

Excellent News !! - more HD for Dish = more competition = more HD for everyone ...

Amazing to me that they could have done this all along with the satellites/space that were already up there but chose not to ... too little too late for me I'm afraid .. I've already jumped and given the lack of Speed HD am happy that I did, but nice to see that there is life in the old dog yet

Well done Dish !!

The HD only package is a good idea, except for one very very very major flaw, the exclusion of the RSN(s). If I was a Dish sub, this reason alone would prevent me from taking this package.

I sure hope most E* HD subs do not drop down to the $30 pack, it will be a punishment on E* since E* will lose profit. This however will get many cable subs to jump in while still keep their cable basic pack to benefit from the broadband discount.

After two quarters of bad numbers, likely the latest quarter bad number too, this is just what E* needs to turn things around. I am just as excited as E* subs. Competition is good.

I watch CSI for like 3-4 hours on Spike when I'm home in the evenings.
