Dish Network Expands 'Chutzpah Capacity'
Dish Network Expands 'Chutzpah Capacity'
And if the publications that wrote those stories on Monday never bothered to update them with the Voom news, well, even better for Dish's sagging subscription efforts, huh? (Dish never issued a press release announcing the departure of the Voom channels.)
From company CEO Charlie Ergen on down, Dish Network should be ashamed today. If not a boldfaced lie, Monday's press release was clearly an attempt to fool the public into thinking Dish was something it's not.
Such behavior can only make this reporter wonder if this was a one-time goof-up or something the company does all the time.
I agree with what Swanni wrote on that one.

Dish certainly wanted to get those TPs back so they could put revenue generating products on there.
I could see Rainbow Media taking Monsters and some other channels back to the drawing board and selling them successfully as individual channels to cable and dbs companies. So I could see Dish picking some of them back up one day. The new Voom channels would be more like their sister channels AMC, We, and IFC.
The money makers are ABC, CBS, FOX, NBC, and perhaps a dozen cable favorites. A la carte would solve all of these programming woes (pay for programming you actually watch)...and get rid of a whole lot of bandwidth wasters too!Oh, I'm sure that Voom (at least all 15) are gone forever. Dish certainly wanted to get those TPs back so they could put revenue generating products on there.
