Arrgghh. I like fox news the best but can't stand SD anymore so I always find myself watching CNN in HD.

The problem with this is that CNN coverage is often irrittating so I am not happy either way.

Why do we have FOX Business channel in HD but not the main FOX NEWS in HD?

Does anyone know when FOX NEWS HD will be available??

(also if you do not like fox news please do not try to make this into a political thread, I would just like some information, thanks!)

My understanding is that D* just put up a new satellite expected to go live around June I think and it would come online soon after that. Apparently D* has reached it's limit for HD channels on it's current satellite so this new one will allow them to begin adding much more. I am like you I prefer Foxnews but have been watching CNN too because of the quality of the picture vs SD which now looks terrible in comparison. I am patiently waiting like you.

I could have been wrong about the live date for the satellite, sorry if the info was incorrect but I'm pretty sure they will add Fox News once it goes live. Why they added Fox business first was probably because that was released in HD before Fox News was .

Fox News HD didn't even exist until a couple weeks ago. Fox Business began last fall and launched as an HD service. I am surprised that DirecTV didn't add it right away when it was launched though. I am getting DirecTV on Tuesday. What a treat compared to BHN, which is what I have now. Hopefully they will add Fox News HD soon. It would be embarrasing if Dish put it up first.

I called Directv today and told them it was very important to me that they carry FOX NEWS HD.

She put me on hold for like 10mins then came back and said she had no idea when it would be added.

She said she would pass on the information to "higher ups" that customers were requesting the channel.

Please call them and let them know we want FOX NEWS in HD.

I am pretty sure D* knows that FNC HD is high on the list of wanted HD channels considering FNC is the #1 rated news channel by far.

You do realize they are in the middle of trying to move a new satellite in place, right? It is not as if they have been holding out. FoxNews HD just became available in the last few weeks and then only in very few cities. If you had been without this channel for months, it would be a different story. Let them get the satellite (and all of its capacity) settled and then worry about adding channels.

Think of it from their perspective. Why add new channels to the existing satellite and then move them to the new satellite a few months later. This would be wasted effort if the timeline was somewhat short.

I just noticed that FNC has three vertical screens on the right side showing different scenes. I can only assume that this may be a format once they go HD, similar to FBN.

That's just for that particular portion of the programming (it's either Live Desk or Happening Now. Can't remember which does it).

I noticed that too today and have never seen that before. It was on for two hours during the Live Desk. They recently changed it to two hours and I guess they changed the format.
