Might as well kill two birds with one stone.

1. Jimbo,

congratulations to the Red Wings on advancing to the Stanley Cup Finals.

2. I hate the Spurs, and I am so SICK of them.

They have become the NBA's version of Notre Dame; always getting the breaks their way and the media slobbering all over them.

Wow, What an assesment .....
You really need help when it comes to the NBA.

I'm angry about the Spurs winning,

but I would like to congratulate the Red Wings on making it to the Finals.

OTOH, maybe the Spurs winning is a good thing:

If we get Red Wings/Penguins and Spurs/Pistons, I think the ratings could actually go THE OTHER WAY if things break right.

Are you already counting out the Lakers and Celtics ?

I wish these series were already a done deal, but I think both should be good series.

I am hoping the Spurs DO win as I dislike the Lakers ...

No.

It's just that I hope for the best, but fear the worst.

I remember in 2005, there was the potential of what would have been an amazing Suns-Heat Finals.

Also, I REALLY don't like the Spurs.

Let me put it in terms you'll understand:

I feel the same way about the Spurs like:

How Sandra feels about the Islanders

OR

How you felt about the Avalanche many years ago or how you feel about Michigan football.

Let me quote an article from last year:

s there a more heartwarming moment in sports, outside of New York City's five boroughs, than when the final out is recorded to bounce the Yankees from the playoffs shy of ANOTHER World Series title?"

That's basically how I feel about the Spurs- nothing more heartwarming for me (BTW, I am a fan of the Utah Jazz- with the Sabres, Jazz and Athletics, I know ALL ABOUT HEARTBREAK) than the final seconds in a game to bounce the Spurs shy of ANOTHER NBA title.

When the Mavericks won that Game 7 in overtime in 2006, it felt like I hit the jackpot.

The Spurs losing makes me feel like how you felt when Ohio State beat Miami in that thrilling Fiesta Bowl.

I am upset too, since the Hornets were my team :(....
Oh well, we are a young team....we will be back to the playoffs again.

About the Spurs, they are one heck of a team....those 3's killed us in game 6 and 7.
If they keep shooting like that, I am sure they can go past the lakers and any other teams.

No.

But none of the Spurs dislike you mention has anything to do with a 100 year rivalry, the OSU and Michigan thing is WAS higher on the list that your Spurs obsession could possibly be.

The AV's battles were built due to the great amount of RESPECT each team had for one another as both were playing at a very high level for a lot of years, even after the Brawl there was respect for the teams, just not the weasel Lemiux.

What do the Celtics, Lakers and Spurs all have in common? They have all had epic playoff battles with the Pistons over the years.

Regarding the Spurs...I don't like 'em either, but it's hard not to respect how they manage to win the big games.

If you really want to hate someone...hate the William Clay Ford family, owners of the sad-sack Detroit Lions for more than 40 years. I predict the Wings, Pistons, and Tigers will together win the Stanley Cup, NBA Championship and World Series sooner than the Lions will play in the SuperBowl under Ford family ownership.

Consider it done!
