Ok....THIS is even crazier. ANYONE make a bet in Vegas that the Rays and the Marlins would be in 1st place on Memorial Day?! How about a better bet, that they would have the TWO BEST RECORDS in ALL OF BASEBALL on Memorial Day?!
IF the Marlins can get throught the current 10 game road trip(AT the Mets, AT the Phillies and AT Atlanta) at 5-5 or better....THIS is could get VERY interesting for the long hot summer.....especially when the Marlins could be getting back 3 stud starting pitchers from injuries in late June(Anibal Sanchez, Josh Johnson and Sergio Mitre). IF the Marlins are still within 2 games WITH these guys coming back.....lookout!!! The Mets, they are in shambles and Willie Randolph is gone by July, the Phillies just don't have enough pitching in my estimation....and the Marlins JUST might be a team that is too young and to dumb to realize what they are doing..!

I for one think it's great...........and I'm a Red Sox fan! With players such as Hanley Ramirez, Dan Uggla, B.J. Upton, Carl Crawford, Evan Longoria, etc., the two Sunshine State teams have some of the best young talent in baseball!!

The Marlins isn't that hard to believe but the Rays is astonishing.

I have been waiting for the Rays to do this for a long time. I kept wondering why was it that they always ended it up at the bottom of the division, got the best players in the draft and those players never materialized to anything. At least the Marlins had 2 WSC and bunch of talent that have been deveolped through their system. But prior to this year, have you heard anyone who was a superstart and was developed through the Rays organization? I am glad they have turned the franchise around. I am really pulling for them. Hopefully they can win the division and put the Yankees and Red Sox to shame with their high payrolls.
