Monsters HD online petition

I may be writing this a little pre-maturely but I saw over at the Cablevision forum that they seem to be starting to require a HD cable box to receive Voom when it was possible to get it with a cable card before.

I just asked if it now costs more to get Voom on Cablevision over in that forum. We know that was a part of the Dish problem. I will monitor this over there for an answer and report back here. Remember, the Voom - Cablevision agreement expires June 30th with no word on a future agreement yet.

Let us know what happens. Thanks

Signed i hope they take the new channels off and put voom back on the new crap sucks nothing but 4:3 sd garbage im on verge of terminating my contract. This is dumbest move from dish since i have been a customer for 4 years times change looks like its end of my dish account.:( I really enjoyed Ultra HD as i enjoy seeing high end fashion its not found anywhere else.

Who knows if anything will get done, so far MonstersHD posted its July schedule already and its really good. I am wondering if this is good news or bad news.

I only started following the official Monsters HD calendar in April but I don't think they ever did a month in advance, much less two months in advance. I'm pretty sure I checked. So maybe this is for the past customers to know and put pressure on Dish.

Yeah tell me about it. I'm glad Creepshow isn't coming on. I would really be sad then.

Luckily, I have Creepshow 1/2 on the DVR, plus the high-def transfer UK DVD (which is pretty close). It just seems almost cruel that the lineup was dead for 6 months and once it's inevitable that Dish is dropping it, everything goes back to normal.

Oh well.

I just have Creepshow on the region 1 disc. I need to get me an Oppo multi region dvd player for the UK version.

This makes me even more angry. Where else can you see hd versions of some of these films in July??? When its on Monsters is as good or better than any other hd channel created.

Halloween
The Exorcist
The Burning
Madman
Terminator 1 and 2
King Kong

I believe Monster HD was dead for the last six months because of Voom filing their lawsuit around the same time (about 2 months after the content went on repeats).

To stay alive, they have to vamp their schedule. They have to hope that cablevision does not drop them and they have to try to get other satellite/cable providers to pick them up (using new marketing and packaging) if they want to survive 3 more months.

I don't think I have seen most of Monster HD's movies like All Halloweens or all Omens or all Hellraisers or all Friday the 13ths on any other HD channel.

Of course, if Voom goes Boom, then those HD movies will probably get picked up by the premiums and the HD channels owned by studios (and heaven forbid commercial HD channels [to be cut to a G rating]).

Chiller was showing Friday the 13ths over the weekend. How very very sad to see the 1:2.35 part 3 in glorious 3:4 pan and scan with cuts, edits, and commercials. Not to mention that the SD version they showed was an old grainy copy not even fit for viewing (an old VHS tape would have played clearer).

Well...

I'm moving to Hawaii in a few months. Apparently Dish sucks over there with less than 10 HD channels and they never got Voom.

DirecTV offers all their HD channels in Hawaii (by using 2 dishes).

It would have been hard switching and giving up Voom, but now there is an obvious reason to switch from E* to D* and no grief over loosing Voom since it is lost already. I'm not going to wait 2 years for Dish to launch enough Satellites to cover Hawaii when DirecTV already has that space covered.

If E* was going to do this with Voom anyway, the time is actually good for me.

I wish you all the luck in your move to paradise!!! I hope all goes well.
I will still carry on the faith waiting in vein for a short while too see if both parties
have a truce and stop punishing us, who love the voom channels.

My move to direc would be bitter sweet since its already in my home. I am not a dish basher. In fact I love the 722!

But I will not tolerate what has been done much longer.

As I hope others feel the same way I do.

Chiller is a nice addtion but the picture and commercials are horrendous! Not a substitute for Monster in any shape form or fashion.

I was excited about Chiller, until I actually saw it. It's complete garbage. Even if it does go HD someday, the content is still horrible. Editing, commercials, big ugly logo, it's a shame. I hope they see an opportunity if Monsters/Voom does in fact fold....They could become the next Monsters, but I doubt that will happen.

I was excited about chiller as well and its not that good. I mean if the HD version is uncut and unedited then it would be a good channel.

Over 1500 signed so far, not bad. I know someone will come on and say it means nothing, but all factors considered not bad at all. As time goes on the propects for a voom to return get gloomy. Voom is in a corner right now, hopefully the will work something out and return with a smaller but better line up that will let both sides feel comfortable. I miss Monster Hd even more after a preview of what coming up. Both sides need to consider the customer rather than who has a bigger stick.
