Congrats to the Red Wings on a great season.

Now all teams have their hope restored for next season. Everybody is all tied up once again.

The Penguins , If they are paying attention, will learn what it's like and now know what it takes to be there and I look for them to be back next year and win it IF they don't play the Wings again.

In most sports , weird as it is, you have to lose in the finals before you can win it all.

YA know,
It's just NOT the same when you don't win it at home.

I bet the Joe is rock'in :up

Didn't they do Joe Vision this year, I haven't heard anything about it.

Pittsburgh represented themselves well for such a young team and this loss will only serve to motivate them going into next season. As much as I love the Wings and the game of hockey...these guys need a well deserved rest!

Also, while the Wings dominated almost the entire 3rd period, the Penguins sure do finish strong the last few minutes.

Well, NBC has signed off, but Classy CBC continues with the celebration :up

Unfortunatly the CBC tower in Winsdor is NOT HD equipt and I don't have a tower big enough to reach the main tower in Toronto. (can't imagine how high that would have to be.)

OK, I don't post much to the sports area, but had to sport the new avatar!

I only have one thing to say: Way too close at the end!

Congratulations to all you Red Wings fans on a well deserved championship!!

Hopefully, we Celtics fans can also enjoy the SWEET taste of victory in another 11-15 days!! :up

Ok,
All you Red Wing Fans inn the Detroit area already know how this works, somewhere in the near future, Mike Illitch will have a little get together with the team and about 20,000 fans for a celebration and discussion about the team and fans at centre ice.

This show will be on FSN Detroit.

Please let us know when this will happen so I don't miss it by chance, last time they all got together like this was when Stevie Y retired.

Also when you hear when the parade is scheduled.

What happened to Rob7?

As a Red Wings fan, you'd expect HIM to show up at a time like this.
He is probably busy watching the game and celebrating just like everyone else living north of the Mason-Dixon line.:)

Interesting Stat:

The Wings outshot the Penguins 222-142 in the series or 13.3 more per game. It really all boiled down to Detroit not letting Pittsburgh skate freely across the blue line, while their offense was much more successful controlling the action up ice. It's part of the experience factor which some folks forget when planting their two-lips on young Mr. Crosby's arse and crowing the Penguins champions.

Tomorrow begins Day 1 of our Stanley Cup Defense...but I will try not to think about over the summer. I am all up for a rematch next year!
