What's for dinner ?

I have this recipe from a site I go to but I have never tried it.

Ingredients
1/4 cup tequila
1/4 cup worcestershire sauce
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
Directions
1Mix ingredients and marinade steak for 1 to 3 hours in refrigerator. Grill steak until done. Makes enough for 1 steak.

Sounds like a great marinade. I will try it this weekend!

I posted a bourbon marinade earlier in the thread if you want to try it

I took the entire roast I cooked and shredded in the blender with onion slice's and a little bit of crushed red pepper added. Then heated 10 tortillas, grated some extra sharp cheddar cheese, opened a can of Herdez Salsa Verde and made burrito's spooning the salsa on the meat. Put all in the freezer... now I'm set up for lunch at work for a week... :)

I already did with steak and now I want to try it with chicken. A restaurant here has bourbon chicken and I love it.
Since I haven't tried the tequila one ... let me know how it is.

So many recipes... so little time :)

I have family in your neck of the woods...I remember going crab fishing with my uncle off the bridge going over the mouth of the James River. Brought the catch back home to where my aunt prepared it. I've tasted nothing quite like it since...

(theres no place to go crabbing in Chicago...;) )
Yeah you are thinking Blue crab. Severe restrictions have been placed on those this year. The red crab is off the continental shelf, much bigger and sweeter. 2 of them are a decent meal. And not the 200-300 dollars a bushel predicted for Blue crab this july 4th.

darn... had to search for this thread again. I know they dont want to make a forum but how about a sticky?

Hey...maybe if we petition for a re-vote. A small sub-forum of the chit-chat club or something. :D

I can tell you one thing that might please management around here, if there is a food-centric subforum...I would probably be spending less time in the warzone! :D

lol

msmith's bourbon steak was excellent...major props....

If you want to try the bourbon chicken try this marinade:

1/2 cup frozen orange juice, thawed
1/4 cup bourbon
2 tbls lemon juice
3 gloves garlic
1 tsp. dried tarragon
salt and pepper to taste...

marinade some bonesless, skinless chicken breasts in that for a few hours. According to the recipe source (wish I could take credit...but can't:eek: ) you grill it on a soaked wooden plank (I used hickory, but any will do).

I kid you not it was delicious...

I don't remember, I'll need a search...did I post my tequila-lime chicken recipe on here somewhere? IF not...I'll post it too...

Thanks for this recipe. We took some pork tenderloin and marinaded it for an hour in an 8x8 glass baking dish. We left the marinade in and we added some sliced onion and some sliced tomato and cooked it at 375 for a couple hours. It came out wet and just tasted awesome. Made up some garlic mashed potatoes, some crescent rolls and some corn. MMMMMMMMMMMMMM!

I recommend this recipe to anyone.

I'm looking at grilling some chicken breasts at the moment and mixing together a little bbq sauce/marinade...I'm kind of going rogue here...no recipe, just throwing together a based of some tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, worchestershire, and honey...and I'm on the fence about whether or not to add a shot of bourbon to the mix for a little something-something. Thought I'd open it up to suggestions since thats been an ingredient of choice here...I thought I'd open up to a few suggestions...

(other spices include garlic, onion, touch of red pepper. I'm also condiering a dash of fresh tarragon...)

Darn! I missed this one and had chicken tonight. Tried the bourbon one I did on steak and didn't like it as well on chicken. I will try this one the next time.

This afternoon:
Grilled Pork Tenderloin with a Caribbean Wet Rub, Grilled Maple Acron Squash, Potatoe Salad, Cucunber Yogurt salad, Sliced Chilled Tomatoes

Chicken fajitas, spanish rice; mango margaritas, and a killer dessert that I forget the name of, but it had straeberries, blueberries, whip cream, and angel food cake in a trifle bowl... a Pampered Chef thing. It was a darn good dinner.
