The only surprise is that they did not add any additional night games so the 12:00 ET slot is very crowded with BTN games, with 4-5 every week.

Agreed. If you have an evening window in weeks #1/2/4, why not use it to put on at least a second game? Especially in one of the places where a the early timeslot results in a (very early) 11:00am game. I would think folks in Iowa, Wisconsin, etc. would probably prefer to have a game at 6 or 7pm than 11am.

Hmmm, just noticed this gem.... This leads me to believe that this must be one of the weeks were the BTN chose before ESPN or ESPN2. No way that Disney would pick Florida Atlantic-MSU over Iowa St-Iowa. I think this is evidence of the Big Ten and BTN putting some pressure on Mediacom to pick up the BTN.

Chances lightning strikes twice on opening weekend again?

High. Utah is a good team and Michigan, while still having a lot of talent, lost a lot of players from last year. More importantly, is installing a completely new system. It would not at all surprise me if Utah wins, but Michigan should improve as the year progresses.

I don't think Utah wining would be anywhere near the same as Appalacian St. Utah is generally one fo the better teams is arguable the strongest non-BCS conference. Teams like that beat good -- even top -- BCS teams not infrequently. And Michigan is probaly going to be down this year given all the players they've lost and implimenting a new system.

Now if Ohio State were to lose to Youngstown, that would be a shock....

Agreed. It could get real ugly if there is not a deal with Mediacom prior to that game.

I think there is a good chance Appalachain State may cause the lightening to strike twice. They open against LSU in Baton Rouge. I'm worried that my Tigers are ripe for the picking coming off an MNC season and losing their starting QB (both of them). Hope I'm wrong! This will be an interesting game to watch, and if I'm not mistaken, it will be the first game of the season.

Geaux Tigers! :)
