I just switched to D yesterday and my install is saturday. just wondering besides the AAA discount if there is anything else i need to be aware of. thanks for the responses.:up

You won't be disappointed! The DVR's are a little slower, but Customer service and all the HD ,makes up for that.
And the speed varies as well with each update. Sometimes a firmware update will speed up the DVR to where its response is almost instantaneous. Other time the opposite occurs. This last firmware update seems to have really slowed down my DVR.

I just bought a Hughes Tivo SD DVR, off Ebay. I hear they are fast and just better all around then the R15 and R16. If thats true, D* better pair up with Tivo again.

I'd recommend trying tonights or Saturday's CE download, all the HD DVR's are one available and if it's like last weeks you should be happy with the speed improvement.

This would be an excellent CE to try Saturday night. It s a strong canidate to be the next national release and very stable.

i might try this tomorrow night to with my new hd dvr.

is there a verizon discount for $10 a month for 12 months or is that bs?

I don't know why anyone would buy a TIVO DVR at this point, seeing they do not do any MPEG4 processing, you only get about 10 HD channels if that.
Unless of course your plan is to use it for OTA only.

Personally, I prefer one machine to do everything I need :)
Only way you'll see D* together with TIVO again is if they BUY them.
