NFL Sunday Ticket

D* did auto-renew my ST and SF. Their email had a subtle note off to the side that mentions that SF was auto-renewed. My recent bill has a charge for both of them on it:

NFL SUNDAY TICKET Early Renewal in 6 Payments 41.50
NFL SUNDAY TICKET SuperFan Early Renewal in 6 Payments 16.50

I called them up yesterday and simply asked if I could get the SF for free because I've read online that non-auto-review ST subscribers are getting it for free. The CSR was very polite and worked to locate the free SF offer in the system. He said that it wasn't available in their system at this time, so he removed the SF subscription and added a note that SF needs to be added back to my account once a zero-charge option is available in their system. So, I don't have it yet, but the rep was confident that the plan would work. I just need to call back in August because I was told that there will be a zero-charge SF option in their system by that time. We'll see.

well, i was charged for ST but not SF. i'm reading conflicting reports about the free SF. i'm just waiting for my august bill to post before i call (if necessary).

Same here, I'm keeping an eye on it, I'm billed for the ST which I expected.. I would be worried if I got the ST for free.
My SF still shows on the account under programming with a 0.00 next to it :)
That said, it's still early.

Same here, just like Jimbo. Charged for ST and still 0.00 next to SF. :clap

Sorry, just playing with smileys.........

I was charged to today for ST and SF. I think I am going to call and see if I can mention the email showing SF for free for new customers. I would still rather pay $269 than $349.

08/01 07/31 NFL SUNDAY TICKET Early Renewal in 6 Payments 41.50
08/04 09/03 NFL SUNDAY TICKET SuperFan Renewal Notice: No Payment Due 0.00

I know I can always Retention Rep threaten if they bill but you have to do that before ST starts. If not, all retention can do is credits or free programming or free hardware. Once a sports subscription starts, they can NOT credit the money back directly.

Hey Brewer ,
Welcome to the site !!!!
Look around , stay awhile !!!

Good to see ya guy !
I have the same situation as you do, I am checking daily...

I don't care if they decide that can't give me SF for free, usually if they cannot, they will credit me for something like the Movie channel/s I get to make up the same amount of money.
That said, If some of us get it free , thats great, I expected it to be included in the price of ST by now anyways.

Thanks. Had a moment to post. Its been too long. I will get more serious as the season approaches. I definately wont let it go before September. Its easy enough to get it through Retention. I've never paid for Super Fan and I refuse to. HD should be part of base product. I do like the Red Zone HD but not enough to justify 99 bucks on top of 250-270.

I just called and talked to a customer rep and she gave me SF free for this year. I explained to her about the email and how other people who auto renewed were getting free SF. She put me on a hold for about 5 minutes and then came back and said she could give me SF for free. Doesn't hurt to try and it worked this time.

Except there has been NO WORD stating that Auto Renewal people are getting SF for FREE, some of us just have not seen it show up yet.

Well Jimbo if you do start getting charged in August then just try what I did and see if you can get it for free. I have feeling since you did not get charged this month you should be good.

I was charged for both ST and SF on 07/16.

When I look under my Sports Subscriptions I have the following:

NFL Sunday Ticket Superfan $0.00 special offer
NFL Sunday Ticket $41.50
NFL Sunday Ticket Superfan $16.50

So I called and at first they said that I had to pay for it, I claimed ignorance and said I thought I was getting it for free.

The CSR looked at my account and says "Oh, I see you did have a free offer" and promptly removed the $16.50 charge.

We'll see if I get charged again next month.

I hope your right, but I don't know why I would get it free when others are having to pay for it. It could be linked to the Auto Renewal guys, I don't know if any of them have been charged or not.

I'm keeping an eye on it daily.

I am on auto renew for Sunday Ticket. My account shows SF at $0.00 and monthly payment was made on 7/19/08. This included 1st installment for ST.

What is the number you guys use to call to see if you can get superfan for free? I tried calling the number in the email and it goes straight to automated system. Thanks.

Call the regular Directv number and talk to a rep. Ask for retention department if the regular rep does not budge on the email.
