NCAA Football 2008-09 Season

One of the longest bowl droughts is about to end.

Arizona, which hasn't made a bowl game since 1998, is leading hapless Wazzu 52-28 and will get its sixth win of the year. They also have winnable games against Arizona State and Oregon State.

The Pac-10 is down, so I think they either they or Oregon will make the Holiday Bowl.

Checked the schedule- IF Tech wins tonight, both the Red Raiders and the Sooners are off next week.

IF Tech wins, that would be another mega-blockbuster game.

LSU's QB is very turnover-prone (4 interceptions today, including a pick-six and another bad one in OT, when they needed a field goal).
Freshman QB Lee has a long way to go. I think he now owns the division one record for pick-six. 7 this year so far (maybe 8). That's killed us in our losses. :(

They may need to switch to Hatch the rest of the season.
Hatch is out possibly for the rest of the season. The third string QB is a freshman as well, but hasn't shown much in practice.

Anyway, all that aside. Proud of my Tigers going to OT with the supposedly #1 team in the country. Tough loss to see Saban come into Baton Rouge his first time as the enemy and win. I'm sure the BS coming from the trailer parks in Alabama will be intolerable for the next couple weeks. ;)

Having seen my Tigers play all of the top tier teams of the SEC, I have to say that Florida is the cream of the crop. They would be ranked #1 except for a missed extra point. With Penn St. now going the way of the Big 10, I see the winner of the SECCG playing the winner of the Big12CG in the MNS. I'm sure USC will have something to say about this, but with their loss to Oregon St., Penn St. losing, and no Pac10 CG to bolster their position further, they may be out.

Just my opinion. On to the late games. Who knows what will happen next! :)

Whew. Bama-LSU was an intense game. Bama had so many chances to put that game away, and couldn't. The only bright spot was that in the last few years, Bama would have folded and gave the game away, just like last year. I was hoping for a really good game, it was a little better than I actually wanted....I was hoping when we went up 21-14 we were going to take over the game, and control both lines of scrimmage. Florida and Georgia capitalized a lot better on LSU's turnovers, we just kept giving it right back to them. 10-0's been a helluva ride. Defending national champs with a chip on their shoulder never go down easy.

Hey, Mccoy, the Bama-LSU rivalry is bigger for LSU than it is for Alabama. We don't get caught up in this game. We have our sights set on Auburn. I don't think there'll be much trash talk from Bama fans over this game. Now, the Iron Bowl, that's a different story....probably because all we've heard from our Auburn brothers and sisters is 6 in a row...6 in a row...they're the much hated set of Tigers for us.

Enjoy the ride. I think the winner of Bama/Florida will go on to the MNC, sending the loser to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. If it's the latter for your team, the Bammers usually pack the French Quarter and pass a good time.

Bama better bring out the Clemson or Georgia game plans for Florida. We'll get beat by 2 touchdowns if we play like we did today in the SECCG. But it's a young team, playing as the number 1 team for the first time against a team that really wants to stick it to you, on the road. Every team that wins the national title has to have a little good luck, maybe today was some of that.

Nice game Mccoy, I thought they were going to pull it off after the blocked FG ....
You need better play from your QB, but then you already knew that .
Still a very good hard fought game :up

Yeah, I know all about the Iron Bowl, and I appreciate your optimism, but you know darn well what will be spewing from the fanatic lower class of Bama fandom the next few days (don't worry, I'll pass along the youtube videos as they pop up ;)).

Congrats on the win. :up

Guess I can quit complaining about Penn State getting votes for number 1....and I can quit screaming at the top of my lungs how overrated they are...Iowa just gives them fits.

mccoy, look on the bright side.

At least the Pitt Panthers won.
I saw that score Sabres, big win against the Cards of Louisville. But I don't follow the college teams of Pittsburgh, just the pros. I stick to the home turf for college.

Yeah Jimbo, I thought for a moment there early on we might have a chance. I wasn't dillusional during OT however. A little worse than what I expected, but not by much. ;)

Hey, that "cowboy" dude on Youtube doesn't count as an Alabama fan. He's got waaaaaay too much of a fixation on the word "ass".....he's not counted as part of the Bama family....Damn, he's horrible.

Jimbo, I'm an Alabama fan. I actually, deep down, was hoping for a Penn State-Alabama championship game...though I would have bet money on Alabama losing a game before Penn State.
