The Official Ohio State vs. Michigan Gameday Thread

Why has this forum turned nasty all of a sudden? Can't believe someone would throw out spam accusations like that. Shame, hasn't been like this until the last couple of days.

It's just a saying and even not that bad of one.

Just having a little fun JW, everybody knows watching MICHIGAN football this season has been anything but that. That being said, I would like to comment on the general tone of this thread - WTF is going on here? You guys are posting like this game is some sort of tea party. Everybody is being all polite and nice, trying not to ruffle any feathers. This MICHIGAN vs. "That evil school from the South"! Act accordingly!

I'm going to puke.

Eat S*&t and die Ohio St.:D

Hey Paul, Has there been much talk about the game up there this year so far?

Now this is the spirit Paul! :up

Speaking of tOSU, from what I have seen from Pryor this week and last week, I think he reminds me of Pat White or Tommie Frazier.

BTW, I see Michigan losing big.

For anyone who says that anything can happen in rivalry games, let me remind you of Alabama/Tennessee- People were saying that Tennessee might pull the upset, and it wasn't even close.

My point- just because it's a big rivalry doesn't mean blowouts are impossible.

Ive read many of your posts ;)

My Team is FLA, and when was OSU Robbed this year? They got their butt handed to them by USC (Yes I know you had your star out, but how does that explain the number of points OSU scored on your defense?). and They lost fair and square to PSU. Last year they got their butt handed to them by LSU and the year before FLA. They already play in a conference that is down this year (the SEC is also down this year compared to the last 2 years) and yet they still complain..

Thats my point, every die hard fan complains at one time or another, not just BIG TEN fans.

Thank you for validating my point !

THIS rivalry is rarely a blowout ...

No matter what OSU sucks. Can't help the way i feel since I was born and raised in Michigan. Honestly never cared for Michigan fans that much either- being a Spartans fan. But Ill back Michigan any day over Ohio St or Notre Dame.

kind of like Georgia and Georgia Tech. I'll back both teams till the last game of year, then it's To Hell with Georgia:D

A few notable stats about this years' Michigan team....

With their latest loss, Michigan now has 8 for the season. This is the most in Michigan's 100+ years of existence! Yesterday's loss also ensures that Michigan will not win consecutive games for the first time since 1962. How in the world is this type of play tolerated from such an historic franchise? I don't care if Rich Rod needs "his type of players" or not.

And don't worry Michigan, OSU will not take pity on your woes. See you the 22nd.

You can bet it won't be next year. Wonder if they'll go after Les again? :)

I'm not sure who I'm going to pull for next week. I have one neighbor who is a diehard tOSU fan (actually a few), and another who is a Meeechigan fan. I think I'll pull for the one that wasn't the culprit who paintballed my LSU mailbox cover (again).

This is true Jimbo but I feel there will be a blowout this year. Michigan is just that bad and there is no over coming that. Heck, Michigan could not even compete with Michigan State this year and that is another one of their biggest games of the year.

There's just something different about this game than all the others. The tradition, history and all of the past stories all add up to an unparalleled experience come November 22nd. No matter their records going in, this is the one day that EVERY player gets up for and leaves everything on the field. It's also part of the reason why sometimes these teams suffer a letdown in the Bowls. The UM/OSU game drains every bit of emotion and energy from the players.

I get chills when I see the players walk out onto the field for the first or last time, with arms locked, to the tune of the band playing the alma-mater and the 102,000+ fans cheering their asses off. Whatta day!

Keep in mind, Ohio State has still never played well against a "Spread Offense", they will give up plenty of yards.

M is just getting started with learning the Spread O, they will be much better next year.

You would think with Prior at the controls that Tressel would start running some Spread and maybe eventually they will learn to defense it from seeing it everyday in practice.
No, I don't want them to run a full all out Spread, like TT, but a 40/60 mix would be nice to see.

You are correct that OSU has not played well against the spread offense. They have had their problems from people that know how to run it and Michigan does not know how to run it yet and one of the key words is yet. They will be better next year but I personally feel that Michigan is still at least two years out from really turning things around. At that time Rich-Rod will have three years of recruits that he was able to hand pick for the O.

You are looking at this game from an OSU fan perspective. I wonder how many Michigan fans think the same way. When I lived in the middle of Michigan country, I always remember hearing a lot more of the MSU game than the OSU game. That does not mean the OSU game was not big it just means that they have others that are just as big.

Yes, I am talking about this game from a fan of OSU and the rivalry perspective.
