The Official Ohio State vs. Michigan Gameday Thread

NEW TORNADO POLICY for the Ann Arbor and nearby areas. In case of possible tornadoes sweeping through the Ann Arbor and nearby areas, we ask that all residents take shelter at the Michigan Stadium. We are certain that a touchdown will not occur there. Thank you for your cooperation, National Weather Bureau.

Jimbo

Surely "That evil school from the South" will score at least one TD.

By the way, you guys (I use that term loosely) are 20 1/2 pt. favorites. Better hope you win, or the MICHIGAN fans here will NEVER let you forget it.:river:river:river

I think the Penn St. game was 21 pts., so this doesn't seem out of line to me. Sure does put the pressure on your guys though. We got nothing to lose here, but losing to a 20 1/2 pt. underdog sure won't look good on your bowl resume, will it?

You got nothing to lose?! You have everything to lose including your manhood! This is OSU/UM. No goddamn excuses! I hope UM coach, Rich Rod doesn't have that same attitude in his pregame speech!

Tony D'Amato* would be disapointed in this attitude Paul. Maybe your UM team can use his famous words to inspire your underdogs:

I don’t know what to say, really. Three minutes to the biggest battle of our professional lives. All comes down to today, and either, we heal as a team, or we're gonna crumble. Inch by inch, play by play. Until we're finished. We're in hell right now, gentlemen. Believe me. And, we can stay here, get the sh*t kicked out of us, or we can fight our way back into the light. We can climb outta hell... one inch at a time. Now I can't do it for ya, I'm too old. I look around, I see these young faces and I think, I mean, I've made every wrong choice a middle-aged man can make. I, uh, I've pissed away all my money, believe it or not. I chased off anyone who's ever loved me. And lately, I can't even stand the face I see in the mirror. You know, when you get old, in life, things get taken from you. I mean, that's... that's... that's a part of life. But, you only learn that when you start losin' stuff. You find out life's this game of inches, so is football. Because in either game - life or football - the margin for error is so small. I mean, one half a step too late or too early and you don't quite make it. One half second too slow, too fast and you don't quite catch it. The inches we need are everywhere around us. They're in every break of the game, every minute, every second. On this team we fight for that inch. On this team we tear ourselves and everyone else around us to pieces for that inch. We claw with our fingernails for that inch. Because we know when add up all those inches, that's gonna make the f**king difference between winning and losing! Between living and dying! I'll tell you this, in any fight it's the guy whose willing to die whose gonna win that inch. And I know, if I'm gonna have any life anymore it's because I'm still willing to fight and die for that inch, because that's what living is, the six inches in front of your face. Now I can't make you do it. You've got to look at the guy next to you, look into his eyes. Now I think ya going to see a guy who will go that inch with you. Your gonna see a guy who will sacrifice himself for this team, because he knows when it comes down to it your gonna do the same for him. That's a team, gentlemen, and either, we heal, now, as a team, or we will die as individuals. That's football guys, that's all it is. Now, what are you gonna do?

Ugh, it's almost Saturday. Go Blue.

That's about the only Blue I can hope for this weekend.

They play a different team from Ohio this weekend - and the one with a puck will be a much closer game than the one with a pigskin :(

My "man card" was revoked when I remarried the second time 6 yrs. ago. My wife takes good care of my "manhood". Sorry Matt, but I don't live or die with sports anymore, years of disappointment has pretty much cured me of that. I'm not playing in the game, so it's not my honor at stake here. I save that for sports I actually play, golf and bowling.

BTW, did you have that "speech" sitting around, just waiting for the right moment to use it? Pretty motivating, though. I'll keep it in mind while I'm bowling tonight.

The plot thickens in the wake of the Rivalry Game.....

Rodriguez says some Michigan fans need to get a perspective on life

"It's amazing some of the things that people would say [on a message board] or yell at you of a personal nature. You almost want to tell them, 'Get a life.' "

Lol. They usually play that speech at Cavs games or Browns games during key moments. It always gets the crowd jacked up. :D
