I would give a very low probability to Charlie Ergen making that decision.

70% probability is that the supplier of the music requires it.

30% probability is that the upload engineer had not heard that it was supposed to be FTA.

I'm gonna go with 100% probability you really have no idea like the rest of us but it is 100% more fun to blame ol' chuck! :D

Charlie mad at FTA'ers. No more freebies. Charlie = grinch.

Anyways, I have a 1000.2 can I connect a DP dish 300 I have pointed at 77 to the fourth input for my fourth satellite slot and it not cause any issues with the current channels I receive on 129? It would be simpler for me to just have one additional dish pointed instead of having to point one for 61.5 and 72.7 as well to not cause any conflicts if that would work. I want to be able to still receive all the HD content I receive now, the SD locals at 129 on the 522 receiver and the HD locals on 77 for the 722 receiver.

I think the receivers will actually do what you want with a wing dish for 77. The only trouble I see is that a Dish 300 is rather small, and there is a good potential for getting crosstalk from 72.7 into that single LNB. The smaller the dish, the wider the beam. The 1000.4 is quite a bit bigger, designed so that it can resolve 77 from 72.7.

If you have a Dish 500 (or bigger), I would try that.

I was able to get 77 from a Dish300 just fine but I do not know what quality that signal is since that may be a factor due to how close 72.7 and 77 are. Maybe I will setup a SuperDish or Primestar dish and point it at 77 and put a DP eye on it.

and why not blame him?

He purposely makes himself visible as the king of dish with his little chats and trade show appearances, at which, more often than not he's got a line of carefully worded BS that gives the illusion that all the HD you'd every want is just around the corner.

But when those corners bring you all the way back around the block and nothing's really happened, he's always got those little "up to"s and "as many as"s to fall back on.

KSWO-TV (ABC) in Lawton, OK changed hands to new owners this past summer. KJTL (FOX) and KFDX (NBC) in Wichita Falls are owned by the same company. It would seem doubtful there would be any disputes between E* and those stations since they are carried in MPEG-2 SD on one satellite (119° I think) and now MPEG-4 SD on 61.5°.

I don't know for sure, but it sure seems like the problem is lack of bandwidth on the part of E*.

I missed the fact they were only SD for Lawton/Wichita Falls. Guess I won't call up Dish yet for an upgrade.

Couldn't agree more.

HD at 150???

Hmm. No uplink of the Tulsa, OK HD locals was hoping Dec 1 would result in some changes. Other citied have been uplinkined in about 10 days. Now dish claims they will have 150 HD by the end of the year??? Where are the other 100 or so comming from?? I am counting 50 give or take a few. Anybody else have any ideas?? I am glad I am down to 18 days left with dish, I am switching!!!

Just what I thought would happen on Wednesday :-( No Tulsa HD locals, but I see we now have Cartoon Network (West) and a couple of new free preview channels. A big disappointment again! I can't wait until my DIRECTV gets here!

Considering the Tulsa locals were first promised in 2006 it may be another 2 years before they are live. They have spent the biggest part of the year working on DMA's in the 100-200 range instead of the bigger markets first. Plus most of these s,aller markets still don't have HD just moved to the Eastern Arc. I am just confused as to whats going on, not sure they know either. I am sure durring the Charlie chat scheduled for Monday some new channels will lauch, so they can brag about it. I see VS and Golf split today they will probally claim to have 2 more HD channels when its really only 1 net gain since they shared a channel.

The tech guy just left. According to the Tech, Dish is still working out some bugs on the Tulsa HD locals. It would have been nice if the CSR could have told me that since I am sure they will bill me for this tech visit. All he did was tell me about the bugs they were working out and took pictures of the signal strength. So if you have a dish pointed at 110, 119, & 129 don't bother calling Dish it should be cleared up in around 10 days. I won't hold my breath. Don't get me wrong I am glad we have HD locals, it's just Dish needs to be more truthful about the problems they are having. I am still considering switching depends what they charge me for the tech!!
